About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Hexagon Box

Good Morning All
I made this cute little box the other day when I was exploring you tube and now I cant find the link, sorry.

I have decorated it up today as I am going to give it to my sister when I go back to the UK on Sunday (next week).  She found out afew months ago that she has leukemia and now she is on tablets for however many years it takes to get her platelets to the correct level in her blood.  They are making her feel pretty yuk.  But she does not give in to them and is still running round after my Mum and her own family, looking after her great grandson too.  She has insured car for me while I am there, so I will take over the running Mum round and taking her to hospital as she has a hip replacement done while I,m there.

I will put some yummy chocs inside and some money that I owe her for insuring her car for me.

I added various buttons onto each side.

I love this button with 'jackpot' on it, could this be an omen for the lottery?

I added some homemade tags.

I tied the top together with some plaited string that I acquired off a belt from the charity shop.

The origami boxes I made a while ago HERE I am taking back with me and giving one each to my daughters in law (sort of) filled with chocs too.

I have done a trial pack today to make sure everything fits in my case.  I have got pressies and cards to give out.  I will be seeing Hollie too as they are travelling upto the North West and staying at my Mums for a couple of nights.  We are all going out for a meal on Sunday night so that will be lovely having both my boys and both my grand children with me, first time I will set eyes on Noah, my new grandson, doing well by the way.

xxxxx

Love the box Wendy, there is something similar in one of the Hougie books, if I'm not mistaken. Sorry to read about your sister, I hope she adapts to the meds soon, and doesn't feel so yucky

Hi Wendy. Lovely box. I do just the same as you have. I find a really good link then lose it. Must write it down!!! Sorry that your sister is not well, if she is on the same tablets as 2 of my friends she should hopefully start to feel quite a bit better soon. Hope Mums hip op goes well, my Mum had both of hers done (3 months apart) a few years ago and apart from having to be careful when bending to the floor she is as good as new! How great that you will have your family all together, Hollie and Noah will be spoiled rotten with love and hugs won't they :) Take care.

This is such a sweet box...lovely shape and the colour palette is beautiful. The addition of the buttons, tag, and braided string really make it special. Thanks for joining our Button Up/Anything Goes challenge this fortnight at Craftitude. I hope we see you again soon. I hope you have a wonderful visit with your family and all goes well for your sister and Mom.
