About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Spring Flowers or Showers for Allsorts

Good morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by  Ellie and the theme is
Spring Flowers or Showers.
I got this stamp out of the packet and thought it was a daffodil, then realised it is a Camellia, as the title is Camellia Ring  Elements by John Lockwood.
I looked online and Camellias do flower in Spring, so that's OK.

I coloured the same colour as a daff.
The sentiment stamp is from the same set.
I heat embossed this with Copper powder.

The mini sentiment is from JND sentiment set.

A lovely prize on offer this week so pop over to challenge blog for details.

Groovi

Good Morning All

I have a big birthday coming up in May and John wanted to buy me a Gemini machine but as my Cut N Boss is still in good working order, I thought it abit daft to get a Gemini.
So he asked what else I wanted and I have been toying with the Groovi plates for a long time, so that was what I asked for.
Joanna Sheen posts here free, which is great, why other companies dont do it I dont know!!!
Anyway it arrived this week ad he let me play with it.

Well here is my first card made with the Groovi system and afew plates I added to the order!!!!

Happy with it and it is something I can  do at night while watching TV.

********
Our lunch yesterday was lovely.
Here is one of the two Paella dishes Vincenta served us

And it was Andrews birthday, the guy in the middle holding a red wine.
We had a great time.

Springtime for MAWTT

Good Morning All
MAWTT Challenge this time is hosted by Diane.
Her theme is Springtime.

I went with my beloved LOTV toppers pad.
Matted onto bright yellow card.

Spring has sprung here in Spain.
When I walk Rico I see these gorgeous Daisy like flowers.
I just love the way they are yellow in the centre then distinctly change to white.

They nestle in amongst these purple ones too.
All grow just like weeds on the campo(wasteland)

I saw this orange tree too, looked strange having blossom and fruit on at the same time.

We are out for lunch, another giant Paella, and no doubt, afew drinks. Mmmmm.
It will have to be indoors though as the wind has been horrendous this last few days, hopefully, due to change on Saturday.

Crochet

Good Morning All
I wanted to show you this Crochet piece I have finished.
I look around You Tube for something different or different stitches to use.
If you  search Chevron circle you will find some videos to watch and learn.

It is about a metre wide so will make a pretty shawl.

Onto my next project which is a pink and lilac Pram blanket and I found the stitch on Creative Grandmas You Tube site.
Obviously, I will show when it is finished but it is quite complex to may take me a while.

Quilled Ballerinas

Good Morning All
Val and I did our last Quilling class at the end of March and this is two cards that I made.

Christine cut the silhouettes out for us to use so the actual quilling was quite quick to do.

I prefer the first one, I think that silhouette is better.

Two quick cards for the box.

The kennels where we got Rico from have started taking some of my cards to raise funds, so very pleased about that.

They have a walking day one  Sunday per month, to raise money, so they will sell them there too.

Be Square for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is Be There or Be Square.

This is an idea that I got from Christine who does the quilling class that Val J and I attended.
This was my practice one but thought it was good enough to make into a card.

Square card blank
Silver square mat
4 square heart embossed pieces, inked edges
And the quilled pied matted onto a square blue card.
One of my bows with a cute Teddy charm.

Sponsor is
Tattered Lace

Fave Colour for Crafty Friends

Good Morning All

Fave Colour.
Well, where do I start, so many colours I love using but I went for Lilac

I chose this gorgeous Wild Rose  image from the sponsor, Beccy's Place.
Coloured with Promarkers
Papers from a 12x12 pad I bought in B&M called Memory Lane from Crafts You Create.

I cut a circle frame with Pierced  Circle die.

Lilac seam binding I won from Crafty Ribbons
with one of my stick pins.

The sentiment is one from JND.

Afew butterflies and pearls.

Back later for Allsorts Challenge.

Flowers for Craft Rocket

Good Morning All

Last month when I was in UK I bought JND Gerbera die and stamps from the Ducks Doodahs,
(very quick delivery)
As I was playing with them when I got home, I thought this card was perfect for this challenge at Craft Rocket - Flowers.

I matted the negative from the die cutting onto an ombre green card.
Added large gems to the centres and used 4 of the die cuts, made into 2 flowers.
I added ribbon across the corners to hide the black ink.
(This is to line the die with the stamped images correctly.)
I added a Mothers Day sentiment as it was approaching the day at the time I made the card!!!
Added one of my dangle stick pins to the bottom bow.

John Lockwood, I love this die and stamp set
****
Rico went to be clipped yesterday, he looks loads better.

Bits & Bobs

Good Morning All

I have afew small piece of Embossed card, offcuts which I dont like to throw away.
Here is one way of using them.
I tried to keep a theme of yellow, so inked the edges of all the pieces.

I had some odd flowers punched out so added yellow and blue pearls.

And, of course, afew of my butterflies.

I had been playing with my new Envelope Punch Board and I had two of these bows ready to use.

Sentiment from one of Johns sets.

And this is Johns stamp too.

So that is afew more scrap and bits used off my desk.
*****
Rico is going for a haircut tomorrow.
Although he is molting, the vet said he can be trimmed, so we booked him in when we were at the vets last week.

This pic shows how long his fur is all along his neck and back.

We think his fur is longer  on his back because he is cross breed,
possibly with a wire hair terrier.
He will look so different with shorter fur and it will keep him cooler in the coming months.

Craft Club and Gifts and Challenge

Good Morning All

I thought I would try a different idea for the Craft Club challenge this week.
So instead of a sketch, I let the ladies choose 1 length of ribbon and some buttons from my Crafty Ribbons Stash.
I thought it would be quite interesting to see how they all use it.
If anyone else wants to enter, just use ribbon and / or buttons on your creation and either email me a pic or comment on my Facebook page HERE.

I used this cute  heart Grosgrain ribbon on my cards
Available at Crafty Ribbon HERE

This is a recycled card, I thought the picture was too pretty to throw away.

I just added the ribbon across one corner and some more inside.

Added some of my mini Butterflies.

Perfect way to recycle and another card for the charity box.

I hope you will join me.
********
This week I gave the ladies a Caramel egg in a little decorative box.
Forgot to take pics!!!!!
But had a couple left over so gave them to 2 friends we went to lunch with on Friday and got a large order for some!!!!
