About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Freebie Die

Good Morning All

Did you all survive the clocks falling back????
I didn't, I was wide awake at 3.30 and up making cards at 4.30.
But this is not too unusual for me but my tinnitus is very bad at present and causing terrible headaches too.
When I lived in UK and had to go to work, I hated going out in the dark and coming home in the dark, I dont think I ever opened the blinds in the kitchen!!!
*******
When I was staying with John Next Door he gave me this gorgeous die from a magazine, I think it was Diecutting Essentials but not sure.
It makes a quick but very effective card.
I have made a load of these in different colours to make some card packs to sell at the fayre in November.
I think this one was made with Crafters Companion card.
You can actually piece the sleigh and reindeer back in if they are cut from a different colour card, and the Merry Christmas too, which I will be doing with some of the others I have made.

******
I had an up and down weekend.
Shed afew tears on Saturday as it was  the anniversary of Lucas's death, 7 years.
On the up side, we had a couple of nights out with friends and met a couple from London who have a holiday home in the village.
Trying to persuade them to come out for New Year and join us all in Sella.
I,m still on a mission to find a tasty dessert to make and take with us.
I have found two recipes for  calorie laden treats, one using chocolate and roasted nuts and another from Mrs Duck using Crunchie bars, both have a zillion calories but sound so yummy, of course.
*********

I need a couple more Design Team members for Moving Along With The Times.
If you might be interested please leave a  comment or email me.
Very easy team to be on, only need to comment 2 weeks out of 4 and create once per month.

I love Mrs Duck’s recipe and have made it loads of times Many friends ask for the recipe which is the greatest compliment It is so easy to make Stand well back for the stampede when people devour it!
I did by accident once buy unsalted peanuts - not as nice So make sure you buy salted ones
Take care Thinking of you xx

Hi Wendy, the extra hour makes no difference to me as I sleep so poorly, so for me it was a loooooong night.
Love your card, gorgeous die and colours, Kate x

Lovely card and die Wendy. I also wish I had bought the magazine now. Sorry to hear you are not feeling too well at the moment. I am also waking up much too early. Normally I can just turn over and back to sleep but not the last few days. Take carex

Hi Wendy
Sorry that the tinnitus is playing up again.
What a cracking die. I don't bother with magazines but wish I'd seen this.
Hope you manage to get more sleep.
