About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Give Thanks

Good Morning All

I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year and, hopefully, a healthy, prosperous and crafty one.
                                                                ***************
It is time for a new challenge at Ladybug Crafts and a great theme of 'Give Thanks', very apt for the new year.

Please excuse the reflection on these pics, but it is the acetate.

I used a 6 x 6 scalloped square card blank.  I do love these cards, I bought some more while I was in the UK in December.

I cut an aperture out with a Scalloped circle die and added acetate to make a window.

Cut, then matted and layered orange and white card.

I used Marianne Creatables dies LR 0106 and LR 0107 to make the flowers and cut the leaves.  Added tiny gems to the centres.

I stamped a sentiment onto a small scalloped circle.  I inked all the edges of the circle and the flowers.

I made a bead pin with an orange butterfly bead, added a button with twine tied through it.  Added a satin ribbon  round the top  (this was to hide my wonky layering)  LOL and tied it in a bow in the corner

Inside I used a decoupaged flower, mounted onto a scalloped circle to show through the window.

You have the full month of January to enter so pop over and have fun.
xxxxx
