About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

A Quest

Good Morning All
I was given some pictures like large postcards and asked if I could use them.  I never want to throw anything away, so of course I said yes.  I didn't want to use them just as they were so I want to ask for ideas.

Here is a picture of some of them.  They are all         flowers here but I do have more of
         sea scenes.

Here is a couple that I came up with and what I used  -----

Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares and X Cut heart as shown.  When you cut this you get lots of tiny  hearts as left overs so I cant throw these away
can I?.

The pink square in this one is a diecut I bought off Ebay.  I cut some of my squares in half to use as corners.  I cut the smallest square to use as a centre then added a satin bow and a charm.

CHALLENGES -----
Sarah Hurley # 83 - Dimension / Texture

In the Pink # 25 - Hot Pink

This one is an 8" square base because I wanted to use two hearts crossing over each other.  Added more satin ribbon and diamond gems and hearts in the cut outs of the hearts.  Butterflies and more hearts tumbling down.  Squares cut in half again for corners and one whole to mount the gold hearts on.

What do you think?  Anyone got any other ideas what I could use these cards for?  Any I really like I will send some crochet flowers to or some bead pins.

Hi Wendy
You have made two fab cards as it is chuck!
I would save that picture of the plums and give it John when you re-start the mojos hahaha!
That x cut heart is gorgeous.Must hunt that one down.
You could cut a few that tone together and make a collage effect background for a card or picture(to frame or hang on the wall) Or cut into panels or squares and cover in clear embossing powder to create a glossy tile effect. Or cut into strips to use as borders or wraps for a plainer style card. . . . . . . . .and now I will shut up lol!
Have a great day. x

Hi Wendy, These are beautiful cards and would definately make wonderful Valentine's cards. I think I would be having a look through the 'pile' of postcards and see whether or not there are any that you could turn into decoupage or pyramage style cards. I would photocopy some of the postcards so that I could make some pyramage cards. Hugs, Jen x
