Bye Bye for a couple of weeks

Good Morning All

Today is packing day, we go up to Barcelona very early  tomorrow to join a cruise ship for two weeks.  I have scheduled my DT posts but nothing else.  I will probably only have intermittent internet connection (it is so expensive on board) if there is wi-fi some places we go on shore.

This card is to show Ita  (from Ireland )that I have used some of the gorgeous moulded pieces she sent to me and there is more coming up on DT cards.

I have kept it fairly simple and used a sentiment from Netty (see my side bar for link to  her blog).  The leaves for the flower are made when I did the poinsettia tutorial here.

See you in a couple of weeks.

Shape Up

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times Challenge time again, and the theme has been chosen by Laurie.  It is Shape Up and that means  'A shaped card' so off you go with your imagination.

A while go I was given some card blanks by Linda (Animal Aid) and these were some that I was not too sure how they worked Durrrr, then it came to me -----

I needed to glue two pieces together to make a sort of box or window shape.  I used a Bugaboo image which I think is very sweet, some paper from stash with Chinese symbols on.  I put a piece of acetate in aperture and added afew gems and that was it.
Hop over the the challenge blog and have a go, we cant wait to see all the gorgeous shapes you come up with.

CAS

Good Morning All

I recently bought an A4 embossing folder from 'Crafts Too' which is three panels across an A4 sheet.  This is what I made with it.

I cut it into three pieces then mounted onto a folded card.

One end is swirls and a bird, then criss cross and finally more swirls and a bird.

I did not want to add much in the way of embellishments as the embossing is so pretty.

This is the criss cross pattern.

I do have to make lots of 'Get Well' cards the charities I give to.

I just added circles from the off cuts and afew gems.
                                                ********************************
Here is my new cleaner!!!!!!!

She may be able to clean this one up for me, this was on the wall outside my door yesterday afternoon!!!!!

Love her to bits and back. xxxx

Ribbon & Bow

Good Morning All

It is time for the Allsorts Challenge again and the theme this week has been set by Helene and it is Ribbon & Bow so this is a good one for most people I think.

I chose an image form one of the sponsors and coloured with Promarkers.

Then I pondered what to do with it Mmmmmmm.

I decided on something abit different for me and this was after seeing John Next Doors post here on how to make this style of box.  Made from acetate and a couple of pieces of A4 card, EK border punch and a Spellbinders Octagon die.  I found it easier using the red DST instead of a wet glue.

Incase you are wondering, inside is a baby talc and a sponge.

My box is octagonol  instead of hexagonal because I did not have a suitable die.

It took abit of fiddling about but I managed it quite well I think.   I am not too good at measuring and following instructions very closely, I tend to look at something and think, mmm I,ll do it like this........

This is it before putting the image on and putting goods inside.

You could use as a gift box for anyone really and put Body lotion or shower gel inside, or candles or chocolates mmmmmm.

The sponsors this week are ....

Passion for Stamps   will give a winner 4 images of choice.

              And    Ribbon Girl

Boxes

Good Morning All

Friday again and fat club day, I dont think I have done too well this week, but 'heyho' gotta carry on.  I made a Cherry Bakewell from a recipe given to us by one of our leaders and it was made from chick peas, believe it or not, and it was flippin' gorgeous.  If you would like the recipe let me know and I will email it to you.  If you have ever followed the club that uses syns this whole cake is only 6 syns.
Just one week to go until my hols too, so excited.!!!!1

Another project of making boxes.

These measure about 4.5" x 6.5" and will hold about 6 A6 cards.

Now this one came about because I saw a belt at the charity shop, where I work on Tuesday mornings, and I thought it would look great on a card or box as the case may be.

The tassle was off a cushion cover and the wooden circle and the rope was from the belt.

Then I just decorated with whatever embellishments I wanted.  Quilled flowers (inked on the edges), crochet flowers, corner die cuts, pearls, lace, brads.

I just had to show you all this piccy of Hollie when we Skyped last week.
Her Mum took this pic of her giving Nanna a kiss,  (she kisses the computer screen).  Aint this sweet?  Love her to bits.

Handbag notebook

Good Morning All

I made this little book cover to take for the raffle at my Slimming Club.  I used a cereal box to make the cover and covered with Papermania paper from a goody bag about 2 years ago.

It measures about 6 x 4" and has a little post it pad inside and then I folded pieces of card and glued together to make compartments for storing bits and bobs in.

I will probably make one for myself to keep in my handbag to make notes.

A good gift idea too.

Johns Sunday Mojo

Good Morning All
It was Johns turn to provide the goodies for Sunday Mojo this week.

This was left on my window sill on Saturday morning.

Sticky backed fabric, felt, gingham, ribbon and pearls.

I had bought this box ages ago in the local Chino store, so I decided to cover this.  It is about 4" square and 2" deep.

I had to use some of the red DS sticky tape as the fabric was not sticky enough to hold.

I cut the green felt with a  Spellbinders border die.

I cut the felt and gingham with a poinsettia die and mixed the layers and  added a big glass pebble.

I used a glue gun to add all the embellishments as I think this is a stronger bond.
(I want a battery powered glue gun but cannot find one here, mine is electric).

Why not hop over to Johns blog to see what he has made, the link is at the top of this post.

Boxes of ........

Good Morning All

I have been making quite afew of these boxes (see tutorial here) on Card Making Magic, and I will keep them in reserve to use as gifts.  They can be filled with all sorts of things - cotton wool,   potpourri,  sweets,   chocolates,   (see yesterdays post).

These were made with one sided paper so I had to hide the white bits with something.  I bought a great big bag of assorted buttons when I was in the UK and I decided to use them to decorate this one, along with some homemade flowers using Cheery Lynn 'Roses' die.

I used one sided paper again but cut  pieces to fit on the white bits that contrasted with the shades of beige.
I decorated with crochet flowers and pearls, Marianne die cut flowers with quilled ones in the centres, inked on the edges. Lace around the top and a doily cut into four pieces and inked on the edges and stuck under the edge.
The corners n this are a new die I bought -
Lea,bilities  45.8558.

Doilies again on this one, lots of quilled flowers (I make these from off cuts of plain white paper, just a half inch strip) and peeloff/acetate  butterflies.
Crochet butterflies and flowers on the sides.

I hope this inspires you to have a go at making these, they are a great way of using loads of bits of stash that you may have around your desk, as I have.
The gold foil butterflies are punched from Duflex bits left from a diecut sheet that has been on my desk for months, I try not to waste anything!!!

I hope you like them.

Autumn / Fall

Good Morning All
The theme this month at Lady Annes Challenge is Autumn Fall so the card I have made is all browns, oranges and yellow.  I would love, love love to go to Boston USA in the fall, it always looks so picturesque when you see it on TV, anyway, back to card making.

I used a digi from the Bugaboo who is sponsoring this challenge.  I do find their digis nice and easy to colour.
This is very much a recycled card ----
Odd pieces of ribbon and twine left on my desk
Leaves cut from scraps
Off cuts from die cuts (Edges)

Items used ----
Lecrea Multi Die for leaves No. 45.8961
Spellbinders Edgebilities Triple Scallop
Sissix Scalloped Squares 657566
