Weaving

Good morning All
As this goes out I shall be on my way to the airport to get my flight to Uk, fingers crossed that French Air Traffic Control dont go on strike!!!!
While I,m away I wont be able to visit you all as often as my tablet is not very Blogger friendly.

Since watching Sue Wilson and her Weaving dies on C&C the other day, I thought I would try doing it without a die, not as detailed but quite good I think and at very little cost !!!!

I dont know about you, but when I watch C&C I really DO WANT the products but can't afford them, so now I have got to think to myself, 'do I really need them?'

No I dont is the answer.  So I made do with figuring a way to do this without the die, and afew people have said that this die is quite complicated to use so this is what I figured out.

I cut white card at 1/2" and coloured card at 1.4" and stuck them together as shown.

Then I cut an aperture in an A5 card and weaved the strips behind it as the pic below shows.

And this is the result which I am very pleased with.
My bead pins with a homemade tassle (I made quite afew of these the other night and am very pleased with them too), homemade quilled flowers and the leaf die I borrowed from Val at craft meet, and an acetate sentiment.
What do you think?

Here is afew pics when we went on the Tapas Run yesterday, that provide a little train that passes all the bars taking part.

We only managed to visit 4 bars before it ended at 4pm but a good time was had by all.
And a couple of friends flew in from Belfast so they were able to join us too.
Great fun.

  1. Beautiful weaving Wendy, what a super card. Hope air traffic control behaved for you, it's snow up here that could cause flight delays! Jx

  8. Your weaving is brilliant and I totally agree with you about the difference between liking and needing "stuff" I did buy the weaving dies and decided at how often I'd use them it wasn't worth it I'm going to have a go your way Might even try it with the plain piece from the 3D bow die set! Hope you had a safe journey Love your stick pins too

  9. Lovely effect Wendy, and just goes to show that you don't need to buy dies to create a great card. Have a good trip back to the UK. Janice xxx http://createdbyjan.blogspot.com

  12. Hi Wendy
Well, it looks like you need both sets to make proper use of the dies, which makes them a very expensive buy.
Your fantastic card shows you don't have to have fancy stuff to make a great card.
I guess that little train came in handy after a couple of glasses of vino blanco lol!
Hope its warm enough for you here.
    Best wishes.
