Grand Kids Shabby Chic Canvas

Good Morning All
We are away this morning for afew days to a place called Altea.
It's not very far, about 1 and 1/2 hours drive but the deal we got with the hotel was too good to miss.
So forgive me for not commenting for afew days.
********
I have three pictures in my house that I inherited when I moved in with my John.
They are flowers painted on canvas and about 18" x 18".
They are nice but I  am abit fed up with them so I thought I would alter one and see how it turned out.
I painted the whole thing with white Oil paint, which took an age to dry, I have since bought some Acrylic paint which will dry alot quicker.

I wanted to keep the centre for photos of my Grand kids.
Then I went to town with embellishments !!!!
The great thing about this type of art is that you can use lots of bits that you would no longer use on cards or have had in  your stash for ages.

All the doilies are hand crochet by me.

If anyone would like afew please email me and I will send some.

Hand made flowers from scraps of material.

I added Texture Paste, Shells, Flowers, Lace, String
etc. etc. etc.

I put a sheet of acetate in the middle so that I could add a sheet with photos on and change it as and when I wanted.

I have left a space to add pics of Tess when I get some  printed when I go to UK in June.

Very Happy with how this turned out and I am eager to do another one.
*******
This now takes pride of place on my wall.
Did anyone catch John next Doors shows on Hochanda with him doing Mixed Media?
I caught up on them afew days ago and was very impressed.
Here is is link to one of the items he showed.
He really seemed to enjoy doing this type of art.
I saw the item showed on the link and it really is soooo shiny.
