Glittery California Collection

Good Morning All

I caught a quick glimpse of Sue Wilson  on C & C afew weeks ago and she was using double sided sticky paper but I did not catch the full thing so I am not quite sure how she did it, so if any of you know of a video tutorial please let me know.
I was talking to John about it and he tried to explain to me but I should have written it down, I need a tutorial John Please !!!!!!

Anyway, this is my try at it.

I started by sticking one side of the double sided sheet to card, die cut it with Sue Wilson California Collection 'Hollywood'.

It was very fiddly getting the bits out though. There has got to be an easier way I think.
Then I peeled off the other side and glittered it, then matted it onto brown paper, proceeded to mat and layer with My Minds Eye paper.  Decorate with bead pins and bow and gems.

Then I cut the same shape out in white card for the inside.

I will show you tomorrow what I made with the negative of the sticky card.

  1. Hi Wendy,

Gorgeous card. I think I would die cut first then use the adhesive, hopefully the bits will stay in the die then I would use more adhesive to grab those but I am sure there is a better way of doing it lol!

    Have a great day

  4. Brilliant card, love the colours and design.
I always cut my Die Cut first then stick to the adhesive sheet. Gild or glitter, peel off the back, stick that to my base card.
    Have fun

  6. Hi Wendy
    Your card looks fab.
I think it depends what effect you're after as to what you do with the sticky sheet. If its just a sticky die cut to glitter up, I would stick the card to the sheet, then die cut.
I think Sue has video links on her blog for different techniques.
    Have a great day.

  7. Hi Wendy. Lovely. John has a card using this technique today and Sue has a video of it. I usually stich the sticky paper on and then die cut. but getting the small pieces out are messy and time consuming.
    See you later.

  8. Lovely card Wendy, I've done a similar technique using a stencil and glitter. Also well done on completing your crochet blanket. It's beautiful. Janice xxx http://createdbyjan.blogspot.com

  10. Gorgeous card Wendy, love the die you have used and all the glitter, ..
If I want a glitter die cut, I stick the sheet to card first..then die cut..
I would rather use my Zig chisel tip glue pen and glitter a die cut!!! and use the sticky sheets for backgrounds..
