Friends

Good Mornng All

I made this card the other day and when my MIL saw it she asked if she coud buy it to give to a good friend of hers whose birthday is next month.

She wont be posting it so it didn't matter how fat it was as the flowers and the bow make it quite chunky.
*****************
I would like to wish you all a wonderful and prosperous New Year.
*************
A couple of family pics.

This is Noah, just turned 1 year old in November.

Perhaps he is going to be artistic, learning to draw.
Hollies first visit to Santa, Lorien said she was so excited she nearly cried.

Shopping

Good Morning All
Todays card is one I was asked to make by a lady for her daughter who, she told me, likes to shop!!!

I used an embossing folder that John Next Door gave me before he left for the UK, not really my cup of tea but it came in useful for this one.
The paper is from an LOTV pad and is shades of lilac with aged edges.
The swirl is a Marianne die and will be featured in my challenge to myself (to use all my dies) which starts in January.

The lady was pleased with it anyway.

Crochet Shawl

Good Morning All
I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas.  We have in Benidorm and I think both Mums enjoyed themselves too.
Normally Saturday is Allsorts time but the current challenge is going on for 2 weeks.
******

I finished crocheting this shawl before we left for Benidorm and Mum is taking it back with her until I decide who to give it to.  I have done quite afew blankets  for Megan and Lee  and I have a feeling Lorien and Ricky will have another so I may save it for them.

It is a lovely stitch and if you can crochet you will find it fairly easy I think.
I have put a link to the tutorial on You Tube further down.

Close up of stitch and the border.

Link HERE for the Tutorial.

Vino Blanco o Vino Tinto

Good Morning All
Cheers Everyone - Merry Christmas

These are a couple of cards I made using ome stuff that Linda (animal aid) gave to me.

Very simple and very quick cards.

I thought the sacking went quite well with these as it came from a bottle of red wine originally.

Window card

Good Morning All
I made this card ages ago, it was for a DT but the Challenge blog finished before this challenge was released.

The original challenge was to use Peeloffs, now I know many of you hate them, it was a standing joke between John Next Door and I. (he hates them with a vengeance).  I still have a shoe box full and cannot throw them out and do still use them on many cards.
So you can see, this one used quite alot.

I created an aperture and lined with acetate to create a window effect and put peeloffs on the front.
A decoupage image of gifts inside and more peeloffs to frame it.

Last Minute Gift

Good Morning All
This week the challenge at Allsorts will run for two weeks over the Christmas period and the theme is 'Last Minute Gifts' chosen by Helene.

I made a wall hanger and I will add a little calender at the bottom before I give it away. I decided to give it as a prize in my Slimming club, we had our last meeting on 12th December.

I have used lots of dies throughout the creation of this as I decorated both sides so that it could be hung against patio doors so that both sides are viewable (is that a word?)

Both sides butterflies, flowers, gems.

               Ribbons, bead pins, twirly wire.

Our sponsor this time is Marianne Designs

Get Well Card

Good Morning All
Have you ever thought about all the dies you have, or even embossing folders or toppers etc etc etc?

I visited my friend Val the other day and she had bought afew dies when she was in the UK and they amounted to a fair amount of money.  We got talking and I said that I never used quite alot of mine and I said I should do post on here challenging everyone to use ALL their dies, so in the New Year I will do a post that show all my dies and then posts that show creations using them one by one.
************
Back to today.
I was asked to make a card for a lady due to have an operation.

I created a criss cross card form a 12 x 36cm piece of card.

I used some of the gorgeous LOTV papers I won and showed the other day.

Flowers, ribbon, pins, doily and gems later and here it is.

Christmas Card for Wife

Good Morning All

Busy day today, cleaning and shopping before Mums arrive tomorrow evening.
*******
I was asked at the last minute , by my Spanish teacher, could I make a Christmas card for his wife.  Of course I said 'yes' and here is what I came up with.

The circle die is an X Cut one, paper is Forever Friends.
Lots of satin ribbon and sparkle.
He was very pleased with it and so was his wife.

Colourful Cot Blanket

Good Morning All

Are you all nearly ready for Christmas.  Our Mums arrive on Friday for about 12 days and they are coming to Benidorm with us.  I thought it would be good for my Mum to come here to take some of the pressure off my sisters in the UK, so they can relax and do their own thing this year.
 *********

I started doing the centre of this blanket when I was in the UK and I had some squares knitted and crocheted here so I put it all together last week.  The centre is the lovely basket weave stitch which I love doing.  I made this one HERE first and have now given it to Megan for the new baby due in March.
I made one like this for Noah HERE  and one for Mum for her 90th Birthday HERE which my sisters and my neice cntributed the squares to.

I shall give this to Mum to pack in her suitcase when she returns home to save me a bit of space when I go over in April.

White Christmas

Good Morning All
Allsorts Challenge this week has been set by Jo and it is 'White Christmas'

Well this is nearly all white but I wanted to show you this idea of using last years Christmas cards to use as embellishments.  I did this last year too and it is really simple.  Just cut a shape out and punch holes around edges and crochet round.
Added some stars to sort of match the baubles on the circle.

As I used a black card base I stuck a die cut inside for writing on.

December Birthday

Good Morning All
It is time for Moving Along With The Times Challenge again and the theme this week is 'December Birthday' chosen by Kelly.

I must admit, I cheated a little because I made this card for one of my crafting buddies here in Spain, Lin,  a member of our craft group and her Birthday is in November, infact it is the same date as Noahs, 26th, so not a December Birthday.
I wanted to show it on here but obviously couldn't because Lin looks at my blog each day.

I saw this design on John Next Doors blog HERE and we talked about it at our craft club and they asked me if I could design one similar.

So off I trotted and worked it out.  Infact I made two but I still cant show the other one for a while because it is for another Birthday so until the recipient has got it I can't show it.

I stamped all around the edges and then
I stamped two Sentiments for the centre pieces and then just went to town on the flowers.

Added my usual bead pin, ribbon and sentiment tags.

I love how it has turned out and I'm sure Lin will too.

Mums Birthday Card

Good Morning All
I have dragged this one from the archives.  It is a card I made for Mum afew years ago and it was still in my photo file.  I thought I would show it to you as one of my followers, Alison, is a parchment fan.

It is coloured with felt tip pens

I made this when I used to go to a parchment class here in Spain.

I also wanted to show you what was waiting for me at Mums when I arrived in the UK a couple of weeks ago.

There was one parcel with 6 paper pads from LOTV 8x8"

Then another parcel with a mixed assortment - 12x12 papers, 12x4 papers, peeloff letters and numbers, card blanks and envelopes.

The paper pads are gorgeous too and I have used them already to make aq couple of cards.

I won these because I wrote a letter and sent pics of a couple of cards I had made in response to John Next Door being chosen as blog of the month in Papercrafting Inspirations (I think) back in summer.
I decided to show you because when I met up with John last week, he reminded me that it was me that pushed him to start his blog and me that gave him the idea for the name, as my partner is called John, so I always called him John Next Door.  Gosh how things have moved on for him, designing for Creative Expressions using alot of Sue Wilsons Dies, moving back to UK to persue this dream.
******
Well busy busy this week as Christmas gets closer.  Some friends going back to UK for the holidays so getting things wrapped and cards written ready to give out.  Mums arrive on 19th to accompany us to Benidorm.  Still chasing round sorting things out after getting my purse lifted.  And still getting over this rotten cold.
Have a good day.

Home

Good Morning All

Wow, I am back home and full of cold and cough, even worse than off cruise, I feel really YUK.
I think my immune system was low with just getting over the cold from the cruise and then Noah and Megan were full of cold and tonsillitis so I had no resistance
Never mind, it just means John has to do all the cooking !!!!!
He is in the kitchen as I type (scheduled this last night )

*************
Just been doing some blog hopping and alot have got the comment verification on, is there something I,m missing??????
*********

It was wonderful to meet up with John Next Door and Ang, Mrs Duck (lovely lady).  Pressies swapped (yummy chocolate with peanuts and crunchie bits - yummy) and more.
*************
Anyway back to my post and more crochet slippers, this time for Hollie.

They fitted her perfectly and I think she will keep them at her Grannies for her to wear them there.

Animals

Good Morning All
As you read this I shall be having my last cuddles with Hollie before winging my way home to Spain, after spending a week with family.
So sad having to leave Hollie, Rick & Lorien and last week my gorgeous Grandson, Noah, and Lee and Megan.

I have picked up a dreaded cold and  cough so feeling very poorly at present.  Just got over one from the Cruise but here goes another one.

********
The theme for Allsorts Challenge this week has been chosen by Tracy and she wants to see 'Animals'.

I made this for my my Johns birthday using a LOTV topper of these little cuties having a good old celebration !!!!1

I decorated the inside and wrote a little 'Love Note' to put inside the tiny envelope!!!

Crochet Pram Blanket

Good Morning All
Loving my time with the family.  With Hollie and Rick (my younger son) and Lorien at present until I fly home on Saturday.
I had a wonderful time with Noah, his dad Lee (my elder son) and Megan until Monday.

Here is a small blanket I crocheted following a tutorial on You tube.  I always look on here and there is a couple that I follow HERE, and HERE is great for beginners.

What I love about crochet is that it grows so much faster than knitting.
