These are previous post when I have used the hems of curtains HERE and HERE.  Now here is another one.

I inked the edges of the curtains since I posted the picture on the Challenge blog

I used Dr Digi image coloured with Promarkers,Gems, ribbon and a homemade sentiment.

Use Something Not Meant For Crafting

Good Morning All
It is time for a new challenge over at Charisma Cardz and the theme is to use something not meant for crafting.
Now I must admit, I have used quite afew things in the past not bought for crafting eg, material I have cut off the hems of curtains HERE and HERE.  There are afew obvious things like buttons cut off clothes, bows cut off underwear, Cereal boxes .................................

So I had to put my thinking cap on for something else.  I used some plastic fishing line and attached a fish charm.  I coloured the Dr. Digi image 'Fishing Andy' with Promarkers and mounted it on X Cut die cuts.

I tied a bit of the same fishing line through the holes in the homemade sentiment.

The easel is propped against some  Dufex decoupage.

And I found this fish bead and thought it would go quite well with the colours and the theme.

Knitting

Good Morning All

When I was in the UK looking after Mum I went in the local Sue Ryder Charity shop and there was some wool on sale reasonably cheap so I bought 2 large balls of white and 2 of a lovely mint green.  I enjoy crocheting and knitting so, started crocheting a blanket and knitting squares for Christines 'Blanket of Love' .

Christine has a blog called Hope and Chances HERE and she crochets together squares that people have knitted and sent her for the blanket of love.  If you want to contribute just email her or leave her a comment on her blog and she will get in touch with you.  I get alot of wool given to me by Linda from Animal Aid (a charity that I give my cards to here in Spain) so I thought I would knit some squares.  I left the wool I bought in the UK in my bag I keep at Mums for when I visit there and using the wool Linda gives me to knit while I am at home.

The pattern provided by Christine has a heart in the middle.  When I go back to the UK in May I will take the ones I have knitted with me and post them to her, along with the ones I have knitted there.
(If anyone wants this pattern I can email it to you, just ask in the comment you leave.

Ladies Day

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week has been set by our lovely leader, Brenda, and it is 'Ladies Day'.

I used a rubber stamp from one of our sponsors - Flonz - and coloured her with Promarkers.

The flowers are Spellbinders 'Bitty Blossoms' cut from pages of a book.  I have put pearls and beads in the centres.

Lace down the edge with a crochet flower (availble in my Etsy shop) and a pearl at each end.  Homemade stamped sentiment tag with twine at each end.

Sketchy Time

Good Morning All
This time at Moving Along With The Times, Hazel has given us a sketch to work with

Here is my interpretation of it  ------

I made a flower from some wool bought in the local shop when I was with John Next Door and used a piece off a bracelet for the centre,  the rest is all from stash. embossed recycled card, sentiment stamped on scrap, buttons from my Mums old button tin.  So this is nearly all recycled.  How good am I!!!!!!

Hope you like it and will pop over to the challenge blog and have a go.

Quilled Pastels

Good Morning All
Flight booked to go home on Thursday as Mum is feeling abit more confident now and we got her a riser/recliner chair on Friday so it is a lot easier for her to keep her leg elevated as per Doctors orders.  And it pushes her up to help her stand  and it reclines a little so she can sleep abit in it.  She gets into bed on her own now, with the help of a sturdy step stool I got her but gets up part way through the night as she is getting pain in her back!!!  So she gets in the chair and doses there until morning.  She has one of those alarm things that she has round her neck, so if she does fall she can press it  and my sister is called.  I have to be back before Saturday as Johns Mum and Daughter are arriving for half term.
                                                    ******************************

I,m 99% sure that the image used on this card is from Astrids Artistic Efforts HERE, she has some gorgeous free images on her blog..  I made the quilled flowers with two shades of paper, lemon and pink.  Not sure which the leaf die is as I bought a  pack of mixed ones.  I added a bead pin and some pearls and ribbon.

CHALLENGES -----
ABC Challenge - F for Flowers
Brown Sugar Challenge 81 - Use Die cut or punch
4 Crafty Chicks # 181 - Use Pearls
Crafty Ribbons # 76 - Ribbon & Bows

This is what I,m missing.

This is Hollie feeding herself with yoghurt.

Isn't it fun when they start feeding themselves?  NOT

Now in this one she had been exploring a tub of Sudocrem Nappy Cream!!!!!!!  Probably copying Mum when she does her beauty treatment.!!!!!  But I think she is gorgeous enough, she doesn't need any beauty aids.

Noah is coming for tea with his Mum and Dad tomorrow so there will be pics of him on Tuesday.

Use Brads

Good Morning All

Hope you all had a good Valentines day, I,m missing John but will make it up when I get home.

Helene has chosen the them for Allsorts Challenge this week and it is    'Use Brads'.

I have used a Sentiment digi from the sponsor - Digi Darla,  used brads to attach it to pearlised pink card
Spellbinders Labels 4
Marianne Creatables  LR 0236 on top of another piece of pearlised pink card
Memory Box  star die  and used brads to attach

I think this would make a  nice 'Sympathy' card or a card just to tell someone you are  there for them.

Tatty Teddy

Good Morning All
Hope you survived the storms yesterday, I was going round Mums flat and shoving tissue in the keyholes and tape over the vents in the windows on the side of the flat where the wind was hitting.  Got up this morning to afew tiles in the garden and one hanging precariously on the corner of the gutter, so had to ring the council and report it.  But I know this is very minor compared to alot of people, and my heart goes out to you all if you have been hit by the awful floods with more to come, and many without power too.  Mum only said last night, that we are quite lucky in this part of the country and we are.

                                        ********************************************

The card I want to show you today is a Tatty Teddy stamped image coloured with  Promarkers.

I kept it very CAS, no embellishments except a couple of gems and spare bits from Peeloffs.
Keep safe.

More Love

Good Morning All
I made this card because when I saw the verse I just thought it was so perfect for a Valentine.  Very simple, just added a great big organza bow and used the same ribbon as a
background.

                                                                        **********
And this is my little Valentine, he came to visit me at Mums last night.

Just look at those eye lashes, I spend money to get eyelashes that long!!!!!  He is so happy and placid, he just lays there and chats away to himself.

This is my Mum with him.
I had to get the doctor out to see her today as her lower leg has swollen badly and there are small water blisters there, which he told us is the start of cellulitis and we did the right thing calling him out.  So she is now on even more tablets to add to the load she already has to take, but they are all for a reason.  My other son is coming up on Friday to see Mum and the bonus is, Hollie is coming too so the whole family will be here.

Parchment Heart

Good Morning All
Got to Mums at teatime yesterday and just as well I did, she would never had managed on her own, she is obviously still on her crutches and finds it easier walking with them than her frame so she cant carry a cup of tea or anything.   She thought she would be OK on her own with my sisters popping in and out but it is much better someone being here full time.  Otherwise she is in good spirits and I,m making sure she does her exercises.  We are just planning our meals and then I will go off and do some shopping but it is pouring down at the moment.  Asda just happens to be near The Range, so I may just have to pop in there and see whats on offer!!!!!!

It is a red parchment heart topped with normal parchment which has been  embossed and pricked and cut. Flowers punched from both the red and white parchment with tiny gem added to centres.

I am going to frame this and put it in the hall along with other pieces of parchment work I have done.

Set of Boxes

Good Morning All
I have had this set of boxes in my Christmas box for at least 7 years.

This is how they all nest inside each other and below shows the biggest and the smallest.  The big one is about 5" in diameter and the small one about 2".

There is about 10 boxes in the set and I have decorated three of them up to now and I intend to show you one every week as I do them.  I have to be careful what I do to them as the lids fit very snuggly so I cannot cover with anything too thick  like  material.

This is the first one I have done - Painted with cheap acrylic paint and decorated with bits from stash.
I think these paints cost about2.50 euros in local shop.  I used them when I made my desk tidy HERE.

just added odd bits - Homemade crochet butterfly, (available in my Etsy shop at top right of my blog) homemade sentiment, feather, flowers sent to me in some candy, buttons, ribbon.

CHALLENGES ---
Countryview Crafts -  Painty Pleasures
Lothian Crafts 31 - Use your dies
Winter Wonderland - No Stamping
Feeling Crafty Challenge 25 - Dies and/or punches
Crafting Musketeers 10 - Butterflies

I have done two others and will post them next week sometime.  I,m having to fly to UK tomorrow to look after Mum.  She had her hip replacement, finally at 4th attempt, last Wednesday and they are sending her home tomorrow.  Social services have messed up and have not got a place in a care home for her to convalesce, so as my other sisters work, I said I would go and stay with her for a while until she is able to be left on her own.  So I am checking that my photo file is upto date and I can post while I,m there.

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week has been chosen by Jo and it is to use colour/s beginning with the letter B.  I think the most obvious one is Blue, but there is Burgundy, Black, Beige, any more?

So I chose blue, brown and beige.  A gorgeously cute image from Ruth at Passion For Stamps, coloured with Promarkers.
The shape of the card was cut with an X Cut die.

The inside was a recycled Birthday card, die cut and embossed, cheeky or what!!!!!

Use Vellum or Parchment

Good Morning All
It is my turn to host the challenge over at Moving Along With The Times and I have chosen 'Vellum' or 'Parchment'.  I must admit, I do struggle to use Vellum but I do participate in Parchment now and again, and this is what I have done for my creation this week.  In fact I have done two for you to see.

This is a close up of the pattern and below is the grid I used to make it.

I had to prick all the holes then cut to make the tiny crosses.  Then I used a very fine embossing tool to make the white bits.

Some bought flowers and some made using the Cheery Lynn Roses die with a pearl centre.

I bought this one when I went to our local craft shop with John Next Door, couldn't resist!!!!!.

CHALLENGES  -----
Crafty Ribbons 75 - Anything Goes + Ribbon

This is another one that I have made and I couldn't resist showing it to you.  The teddies are coloured with crayons on the front of the parchment.

CHALLENGES --
Just for Fun - Love

This shows the sentiment up close and the pricking on the borders using a grid.

I hope to see your creations on the MAWTT Challenge.
