Good Evening All
I am now feeling abit, well, quite alot actually, better.  The black clouds have lifted abit but not quite.  Thanks to those of you that sent good wishes my way.  I did not even go in my craft room from last Saturday to Thursday, so it must have been bad!!!!!  I got an email from one of my charity ladies and she wanted a wedding card making,  (I will put this on my blog later in September after the wedding day) so that was the kick up the backside that I needed and since then I have made quite afew cards, mostly Christmas ones that I will show in the next few days.  This is another Gruffies made for the Joanna Sheen Challenge.

Use Acetate

Good Morning All

Firstly I want to send Best Wishes and Hugs to Jennifer Swandells at Krafty Keepsakes who has been taken into hospital for complete rest,  'Get Better Soon Jen'
                                   ************************************************

Saturday means it is Allsorts Challenge day and the theme is 'Use Acetate' and has been set by Helene.

I embossed my acetate using a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, I have never done this before and I was really pleased with the effect.  I put silver peel-off strips on the top and bottom edges to make it more visible.

Inside, very CAS, a decoupage mono flower image and I stamped 'Thinking of You' straight onto the card.

On the outside I glued a black bow and added a couple of my tags tied on with twine.  I,m quite pleased with this one.
We have two sponsors this week -----
Crimson Cloud  will give a winner 3 packs of die cuts.
And

More Than One Fold

Good Morning All

Charisma Cardz Challenge's theme this week is set by Joyce and it is 'More than 1 Fold'.  I chose this gorgeous Saturated Canary image called 'Whispy', I hope I have done her justice, my colouring could be better.

 This shows the fold -----
I used the same embossing folder but with two different shades of blue, Cheery Lynn roses with liquid pearl in the centres, homemade bead pin, ribbon, twine and charm and a miniature postcard.

Gruffies Brown

Good Morning All

My card today is another Gruffies decoupage, I do love these.  I make two cards from one decoupage set, that is,  I use one either as a flat image and the other layers as decoupage, or I will just use a couple of layers on each one (makes it better for posting). This one is so sweet, having a picnic, or is it just eating outdoors, eating pasta?  and the little squirrel joining in

Items Used
Crafts Too 'Swiss dots' embossing folder with a ribbon down the middle to hide the join as the folder is only A6 size
Homemade sentiment tags
Metal charm 'Made With Love' tied on with twine

Acetate Birthday

Good Morning All

I forgot to let you know how my sons Skyjump went, just perfect.  We had to wait around the airfield all flippin' day and him and his friend were getting more agitated as time went on.  Anyway, finally at about 5pm up they went and down they came, all went to plan and he raised about 600 GBP and  I am so very proud of him.

Walking across the fields to the plane.

                                                *********************************************************************************
Anyway, onto the card I made trying something a bit different.  It is a Birthday card with a sheet of acetate folded over the top. I punched a hole in the top corner and tied a ribbon through it and added a lovely green bead.

On a Mission

Good Evening All
Abit late today but I have been busy.  I am on a mission to use loads and loads of stash that has not been used for ages and all scrappy bits that have been hanging around in the drawers and on my desk.  I am feeling sort of unsettled at present, I have far too much stuff that I want to get out of the way - scraps of ribbon, odd decoupage sheets etc etc etc.  I want to start on my Christmas cards but I want to tidy my craft room and have a change around so I am going to spend afew weeks using as much stuff as I can then I will get started on the tidy up, then Christmas cards.  I did do a load of Christmas decoupage while I was in the UK so I have started in a way.  One thing is for sure, the charities will benefit from my sort out.

I have lots of decoupage I want to use and this is one.

Humphrey wedding image on an easel card, Bitty Blossom flowers, gems, ribbons, scalloped squares and hexagons.

Cup of Cocoa

Good Morning All

This is a card to myself and Jen!!!!! (You know who you are).  I was feeling better over weekend then had another really  bad day yesterday, but  I am still crafting, which is something.  I dont like moaning on here about myself but it is because of this that I have not been posting as regularly as usual.

I  used this sweet image from Bugaboo   coloured with Promarkers and mounted on blue corrugated card.
I used a negative die cut to frame the image and added a homemade sentiment and twine.

Washing Clothes

Good Morning All
Wow it is so good to be home, just taken MIL to airport so we are now back to normal, done the food shopping (cupboards left bare!!!) and last load of washing in the machine too.

This card I am posting today is what I thought I would be like today but most of the washing has been done by OH so just one lot of bedding left for me to sort out but MIL had stripped the bed so only had to shove it in the machine.

It is one of the lovely Gruffies decoupage mounted onto swiss dots embossed white card which I inked with blue to make look like sky.  One of Nettys freebie sentiments and an organza ribbon bow and some corner bits from diecuts.

Stitching

Good Morning All
This is a scheduled post as I am in the UK and when this post goes live I will be in Lancaster watching my eldest Son doing a skyjump for charity.  He wants to raise money for Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool.  Their bereavement staff were so supportive to him when Lucas died, he wants to give something back to them and he has done and is doing quite afew sponsored things for this very worthy cause.

It is Allsorts Challenge day and the theme has been chosen by Catherine and it is 'Stitching' real or faux.

I chose an image from one of the sponsors ' Black Eyed Susan' and I loved colouring this with my Promarkers.  I did Faux stitching as my sewing machine wont work on card, (it is on it's way out I think).  Embossed Coredinations card and added afew of my lovely homemade tags and brown ribbon.  I really like this card, even though I do say so myself.  Do you ever feel that way?  Some creations you are not keen on and others you really like.

Our sponsor this week is the wonderful Ruth at Passion For Stamps.  I do love her digis and she has a wonderful blog too, why not visit her on the link above.

Happy Birthday Parchment Card

Good Morning All

As you know I,m in the UK but I thought I would schedule afew posts.  You may also be pleased to know that Hollies birthday card finally turned up on Monday, Rick had to go to post office and pick it up and pay extra postage.  42p short they said and a quid admin charge, cheeky beggars!!!!  I had weighed it and measured it and put correct stamps ( according to the Royal Mail web site),  on it so MIL could just pop it in a post box.  At least she got and her Mum is keeping it in her memory box for when she  grows up.
                                                 **********************************
This is a card I made a long time ago and the pic has been in my file for ages.  This did take a long time - all the cutting out and making the flowers from parchment and layering up, but I think it was worth the effort.  Laid against rainbow card shows the parchment work off to perfection.

******************

This cute fella is my grandson who passed away in 2010.
Yesterday would have been his 4th birthday.
This pic was taken on his 1st birthday.

Good Morning All
When this goes on the blog, hopefully, I shall be at 35000 feet, UK here I come.

I bought this stamp  (Hobby Art Clear stamps CS04D - Friends) afew weeks ago when I went to our local craft  shop with John Next Door.  I wanted to make a female and a male card so here they are.

This one I used a negative die cut, kept it very plain and simple.  Spellbinders labels 4, a ribbon with a charm and some of my homemade sentiments (this card is either from OH beer packaging or cereal packets.)

This one I used Marianne trellis die CR 1202  and a Cheery Lynn JB 175 corner die.

Photo Inspiration - Ribbon

Good Morning All
Saturday is Allsorts Challenge time again and the theme has been set by Tracy and she has put up a photo (shown below) as inspiration for us all.  It is very multi coloured so I think the world is your oyster here.  I chose to use ribbon as one of the sponsors is Crafty Ribbons.  This plaiting technique is shown here by Christina and I think it looks beautiful and makes a nice change from bows, you do need quite abit of ribbon but well worth it for the effect it gives.  The papers are from Hot Off The Press and they were a freebie on a magazine ages and ages ago, but look lovely with this chocolate coloured ribbon.   I,m sure the flower is a Tim Holtz die that I borrowed from John Next Door ages ago and it has been in my scrappy box waiting to be used.

There are two sponsors this week Crafty Ribbons will give a
                                                                      selection of gorgeous ribbons

And the other is Digi Stamps Boutique   will give 6 images.

A Quest

Good Morning All
I was given some pictures like large postcards and asked if I could use them.  I never want to throw anything away, so of course I said yes.  I didn't want to use them just as they were so I want to ask for ideas.

Here is a picture of some of them.  They are all         flowers here but I do have more of
         sea scenes.

Here is a couple that I came up with and what I used  -----

Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares and X Cut heart as shown.  When you cut this you get lots of tiny  hearts as left overs so I cant throw these away
can I?.

The pink square in this one is a diecut I bought off Ebay.  I cut some of my squares in half to use as corners.  I cut the smallest square to use as a centre then added a satin bow and a charm.

CHALLENGES -----
Sarah Hurley # 83 - Dimension / Texture

In the Pink # 25 - Hot Pink

This one is an 8" square base because I wanted to use two hearts crossing over each other.  Added more satin ribbon and diamond gems and hearts in the cut outs of the hearts.  Butterflies and more hearts tumbling down.  Squares cut in half again for corners and one whole to mount the gold hearts on.

What do you think?  Anyone got any other ideas what I could use these cards for?  Any I really like I will send some crochet flowers to or some bead pins.

Guest DT for Country View Challenge

Good Morning All
I am so pleased to have been asked to be a guest designer at Country View Challenge.  I won their June challenge, which was yummy, but I am so pleased to do a guest spot too.  As the theme is 'Quotations & Sayings'  I did have to have a think about this one.  Then I realised that the  time coincided with Hollies birthday (yesterday) and I wanted to make her a really special card as it was her 1st birthday,  so here it is.

I made a rough template from paper for the shape and size, to tell you the truth, I had an envelope (about 11" x 5")  that I wanted to use as I have to post it to her.  Then I cut the shape of number 1 from a fairly lightweight white card, then cut a smaller '1' from pink card and glued on the front and just over the fold at the top.  I had to stick a plain piece of white card up the back of the card to make it stand up OK.

Then I looked on the internet for a quotation for Grand - daughter and found this one - author unknown (found here).   She is a gift to me after losing Lucas, and I cherish every moment I spend with her.

Then just went ahead and embellished to my hearts content !!!!

I used a Forever Friends decoupage bear holding his teddy bear.

Added ribbons, charms, butterflies, buttons with twine tied through, flowers and spare strip of gingham cloth.  Finally I dotted the scalloped oval with liquid pearls.

What do you think?  Do you think Hollie will like it?

Since found out that the flippin UK post has let me down again, she has not received it yet.  It is always her stuff that Royal Mail loses, anyway I emailed pics of it to her Mum and Dad.

                                                          Ain't she gorgeous?

Really looking forward to my visit to UK in 4 days and I will see Hollie and her Mum & Dad the weekend after I arrive when they travel north to see me and rest of family.

This one was taken yesterday after a tiring day at the Zoo with Mum and Dad for her birthday treat.
