Easel Card

Good Morning all

The weekend is here again already, I dont know how I ever found time to go to work, life is so busy.

My card today is yet another easel on 5" x 7" blank.  Tilda dipping her toes.  More punched and quilled flowers, pearls, gems ribbon and beads on wire.  Happy Birthday sentiment in the corner.  The cards I make like this I want to keep them all and not give to the charities because I think they are so lovely.
I have been asked by another animal charity to give them a supply so I am busy getting a load together to send there next week.  There are so many abandoned dogs and cats here it,s awful how some people treat them.
Also, a friend of mine in the UK is doing a bike ride through India later in the year, in aid of womens cancer, so I am going to bring as many cards as I can fit in when we come back in May for her to sell in her cafe to raise funds for this too.

More Recycling

Good Evening All

Hope you are all feelling good.  Weather in the UK has been very kind to you all I believe, as it has to us, here in Spain too.

I have been making lots of cards and trying to use alot of bits up too.  These are some more using the negatives from die cuts.  The label shape ones do look like they are the real thing matted and layed, especially the green and black  one, but the black is the negative with green underneath it.

I really am on a recycling drive and I am determined to use alot of the bits of paper and card that I have.  I have been asked to supply another charity here aswell, so I am making alot of cards for them too.  All the flowers on the cards shown are punched from off-cuts of white paper and coloured with inks.

Thanks all for looking and visiting.

Flowers and Tilda

Good Afternoon all.
Things are starting to dry out afer all the rain the other day, at least I dont have to water the plants for a while.  The outdoor furniture is still drying out though.

Now for todays card, it,s another Tilda and she is holding a  lovely flower.

Once again it,s an easel card and all the papers are out of my drawer of bits (I,m determined I,m not going to cut into new sheets). The pretty purple and white floral paper, I have had for years and I think this is the last bit of it.  Flowers are homemade and the leaves are die-cuts.  I,ve added gems and buttons, and beads on wire from jewellery stash ( I make afew of these at night while watching TV).  I love the hat-pins that are fashionable at the moment but I think these look nice also and I have all these in my jewellery making box.

Easter

Good afternoon again.

I have been busy - it,s with all the rain the other day - there was nothing else todo except craft.  LOL.
No, seriously, I made this one this morning for a couple of challenges.  I stamped an image of a rabbit and coloured him with my Promarkers, mounted it onto pink card, then onto lilac card with silver butterflies around it.  Once again,  homemade flowers, both quilled and punched, some with gems in the middle, some with glitter glue.  Peeloff sentiments of Easter and Best Wishes.  And again, an easel card.

Flourishes (and Recycling)

Good Afternoon all.
A gorgeous day here.  We have just got back from a lovely walk down by the river and through the citrus groves.

I think I have mentioned before that I hate to throw anything away and this card I made using the negative from a flourish die cut.  I made it the main focal point and decorated round it with beads and wire from my jewellery stash.  Punched flowers- the green ones are a Martha Stewart punch.  Parchment butterflies (any bits of parchment I have left I use either my flower punches or butterfly punches ).  Peeloff sentiment and gems added.

More flowers

Hi again

Just wanted to show you this as I am so pleased with it.
The big flowers are made with my Spellbinders die and the smaller ones are using my punches with tiny pearls added to the centre that have been cut off the string added on the wrap.  I do think that keeping to one colour and tones of it makes a card look so classy.  The wrap around undoes to allow the opening of the card or it will just slide off.

Ribbons in different colours - cream and brown (this one was coloured with my Promarkers) I read somewhere just to buy white or cream ribbon and colour it for whatever project you were doing.
I have not added any sentiment as I am now sure what occasion to give it for yet.  One that I may use it for is when my younger  sons partner has the baby.  I know the colours seem unusual for a baby (Girl) card but she wants to do all the cot and pram in beiges so I  thought this be very suitable for her.  Then once she has had the baby I would add the date, weight etc on the inside.
I hope you like it, please let me know.  Thanks

Rain has Stopped

Morning All

At last the rain has stopped and the sun is shining once more.  My goodness - when it rains here in Spain - it certainly rains.  One of my ceramic pots on the roof is full to the brim of water and it is about 15 inches deep, so that tells us how much rain fell yesterday, no wonder there were floods in some places.

I did get quite abit of crafting done though, so it wasn,t all bad.
This one is another Forever Friends stamp and coloured with my Promarkers.  I only have afew FF stamps so I use this one quite alot.  Once again I have made an easel card and covered the bottom with FF paper.  The top is a green textured card that has been in my stash for years ( and I mean years, I remember buying it in a shop in Liverpool,  A3 sheets  - 1 green and 1 pink) and on top of that more FF paper in a bigger spot design.  Added a peeloff sentiment - Happy Birthday-  and a lovely ribbon with a star brad.  Just behind the image I have added little bits of doily that I could not throw out - I try to use all bits up and not throw anything away.

Boat decoupage

Hi all
My goodness, it is still raining here, thats over 15 hours of solid rain.  There are floods in Torrevieja, pictures show levels upto the doors on caravans.  I am told it is the time of year for these rains and they may go on for afew days. Last year the local council cleared the river banks near us in anticipation of these rains, but they never arrived.

So I will just have to stay in and craft -  Ooooh how will I cope?!!!!!!!!!

So here is another card I,ve put together.  When I am sat watching TV at night, I am always cutting out decoupage or making flowers.  I put all the decoupage that I cut out in a box, and then when I need a particular image I have a look through and see what there is.  I decided I needed to make afew Kiddies cards so this is the first -

Well this is one card I can`t put any flowers on.!!!!!

Recycling (green) and Tilda

Hi all
Gosh what a horrible day here in Spain, its been raining for about 12 hours and the rivers are running down the roads.  We will not be able to get out for a walk today so I think it will just be a quick visit to the supermarket in the car.  We will have to  empty the recycling bin too as it is full of tins, bottles and cartons and now it,s full of water too.

Today card is another Tilda on a A5.  Backing paper is Hot off the Press `Nostalgia` range that were a freebie with a mag.  Organza spotty ribbon and more home made flowers, both quilled and punched. The punched flowers I always use off cuts, bits of ribbon I always use from anywhere (hanging tabs inside clothes).  Tomorrow I will be posting some cards using the negatives from cutting with my diecuts.  I cant bear to throw anything away.  John calls me  a hoarder.

Hope you like it.

Butterflies & Flowers

Hi again
I have just finished this card -  a double easel - one half is using the some of the quilled flowers I made last night and a `peel-off``  `Just For You`
and the other half has a die cut butterfly from the wonderful die I won from Joanna Sheen blog candy afew weeks ago, isn,t it gorgeous? (I,ve just had to delete `gorgeous` twice as all my sentence was `gorgeous`)  LOL.
I have tried to photograph it close up to show you in more detail, the flowers and the butterfly.  The bit that took me the longest was sticking all those tiny petal gems on in the corners.

Isn,t it GORGEOUS? Haha.

I have put the letters MUM on the petals of the flowers inside.  As I have already sent my Mothers Day cards I thought I would keep this general so that it could be used as a Birthday card or just to let Mum know I am thinking of her.

Spring

Good morning all,

What a gorgeous day it is too.  Sun is shining, my sons partner had her 20 week scan and I am going to be Nanna to a girl, and I have won a Digital Scrapbook outfit from Gems Little Creations - Wow and more wows.  I am one happy Nanna.

I have been busy making lots more flowers, alot of quilled ones and folded ones like on my previous card, but my card today is a `Diamond Fold` followed from Christina at `Card Making Magic`.  This is a brilliant site, so informative, great ideas and wonderful tutorials.

I dont know about you but I get a little fed-up of doing just plain cards and want to try different folds etc

I followed Christinas very explicit instuctions - used some silver card embossed like a spiders web (been in my stash for eons).  Gorgeous spring colours and a spring chicky.

Flowers, Flowers & more Flowers + Tilda

Godd Morning All

A Gorgeous sunny morning here in Spain, it,s getting very warm during the day too, time to get the cut offs out (trousers I mean).

My card today is another cute Tilda surrounded by homemade flowers, I,m really into making my own flowers whichever way I can.

It is a 5" x 7" base card folded into an easel.  One challenge I want to enter is to use no designer paper so this is all just plain coloured copier paper and plain coloured card stock. Tilda was mounted onto a die cut shape of pink card with pieces of yellow doily at each side.  Smaller dies of the same shape for the sentiments.  The two larger flowers were die cut fancy circles and folded into the flowers and glued and held with a brad. (If anyone wants to know how to make these leave me a comment and I will try to put a post on with pictures).  The rest are quilled flowers in yellow at the bottom and punched flowers in parchment and pink card.  Pearls and wire from jewellery making stash.

Awards

Hi all
I would like to thanks everyone who has thought of me and asked to give me an award.  But as there has been a spate of these, I am declining, the reason being, I have been told that they are like a chain letter and secondly, it takes so much time to find people to pass them on to - check that they dont carry a `no award banner` then putting their link in, then commenting.  Some want you to pass on to 5 people, the next one 7, the next one 15 and it goes on and on.  I love blog hopping and getting inspiration but I would rather make cards than pass these awards on.  So, once again, thank you all and Happy Crafting.

Easter Flowers

Hi all

I have made this card for a couple of challenges - Easter themed.  It,s a Forever Friends bear with little Easter eggs and I have been making flowers again.  An easel card made with my big flowers template - all oranges and yellows, nice spring colours. And some cute little foam duckies.
I dont usually send Easter cards to anyone but I will post this off to my younger son and his partner (who are expecting).

Scrapbook Page

Hi all

I have been wanting to get into scrapbooking for a long time but never seemed to get the inspiration, but now that my younger son is expecting ( well, not literally, it,s his partner) LOL, I thought this might get me going.  So I thought I would follow her pregnancy with the scrapbook first few pages and here is the first one.  It shows the first scan they had and as they dont know yet if it,s a boy or girl, I copied it twice and matted it onto blue card and pink card.
The 12 x 12 paper is from a pad I bought years ago in USA and its blue and pink spots.  Gold shiny paper on two corners with afew foam hearts and Baby ********* on the top corner and on the bottom corner " You will be loved" written by hand.  It is not upto many peoples standards but I hope to get better as time goes by.  The next page will be her 20 week scan and we will know what the gender will be too.  I would be glad of any comments, good or bad, please let me know what I could do better.
Thanks for looking.

Tilda and Colours

Hi all
Just taken my eldest son to airport for his return to the UK and now I can get back to my crafting.
Here`s one I have coloured in, again with my Promarkers.  Using a white  DL card blank - mounted Tilda on yellow and orange card and coloured her dress in the same colour.  Her boots are green and her hair is brown so the quilled flowers I have used are yellow and brown and the gems are yellow and green so I hope it all blends well together.

Sketch

Good Morning all.

Just a quickie this morning as I have my other Son staying for afew days so we will be out and about I suspect, so I thought I would post this one while he is still in bed Zzzzzzzzz.
Another easel card ( I love doing this style) Tilda with a parasol. All card and paper from my stash - very pale swirly (cant see it very good on pic) on top  and checked paper on bottom.  Quilled flowers and pearls on wire and a leaf die cut.  Sentiments read `Sending You` and `Lots of Hugs` which I thought could be used for any occasion.

I had a busy weekend blog hopping with Docrafts, there are more and more folks joining in over there, but you get lots of inspiration and ideas and it is lovely seeing what other crafters get up to.

Parchment

Hi all
We have been busy this week taking my son and his partner around but I have still managed abit of crafting.  This is the card I made at my parch class last week but only just finished off.

As you can see it is done in three parts - the centre piece is mounted onto crimson card which is then mounted onto the large parchment square.  Then the little flowers cut out and stuck with Anitas tacky glue onto the front to give a little height.  The centre flowers are  coloured very lightly in pink and the leaves in green.

Mothers Day card for MIL

Hi all
Hope you are all keeping warm over there.  We have had some rain this morning but now it is all sunny and warm again.  My youngest son and his partner are visiting and they are sat out by the pool getting the last of the sunshine before they go home tomorrow night and the next son arrives with his partner.  Busy Busy day changing beds and washing.
This is the card I have made for Johns Mum, my son can take it back to Uk with him and post it for me.  It is a Joanna Sheen decoupage House Mouse, shades of lilac on purple (my faves) and flowers made with my  spellbinder die.  MUM spelt out on the little flags on the ribbon.  Loving the House Mouse, I will have to get more next time I order from online shop or when I go to my local craft shop, which is where I got this sheet from.

More Promarkers

~ Hi all.

I,m still practising my colouring and making flowers but I think they are starting to look reasonably good -
Again, I have used quilled flowers and leaves.  Die cut leaves, cut with my CB.  Beads put onto coloured wire from my jewellery making stash and a gorgeous wide organza ribbon shaded from pink to blue.  All mounted on hammered cream 6" x 6" card with pink and lilac card.  Two pink glittery buttons and two heart shaped pink buttons to  decorate the corners.  The sentiment reads `Friends Forever`.
