About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Another clear out

Good Morning All
Aswell as clearing out my scrappy box, I have been looking through my photograph files too.
These 3 pics have been in my files for ages and I mean ages, like afew years probably.

I don't colour much anymore as I feel I,m not very good at it.
I did these when I first got my Promarkers and I do still use these pens when I do colour images.

I think this is a bugaboo image.

I,m sure the border is EK Success border punch.

The one above looks abit dated, don't you think?

I do like the quilled flowers on this one.

********
Have a good weekend.
Happy Valentines for Sunday too.
I think we will be going out for a meal tonight but we dont really celebrate St Valentines anymore.
Gone are the days when I used to get 24 red roses !!!!!

And Happy Birthday to my two friends, both called Val and both have birthdays on 14th Feb and both come to craft meets on Fridays too.

Tidying and Emptying

Good Morning All
Thank you so much for joining me today, hope you are all well.

As I mentioned last week I have been clearing my scrap box so here is afew pics of cards made with it all.
There is  card here that a friend may recognise, as when I am given a homemade card I cannot throw it but I will recycle it if I can.
My, now nearly empty, scrap box.

Here are afew of the cards I made.

This one is  John Next Doors Daffodil stamp and one of his sentiment stamps.
I coloured this with Mica paints, but you cant see the shine on the pics.

The one below is the last bits of a Hunky Dory kit and my new Sue Wilson Butterfly dies.

The last bits from a Dufex decoupage sheet.

The next one is trying my masking  again with texture paste.
I love this technique.
The strip must have come from craft meeting as it is not one of mine.
Perfect Peony flower again.

I thought this one would make a good 'Good Luck' card.

And finally, the two below are the same, except one used Iced Snow and one Diamond Snow.
Again, one of Johns striplet stamps coloured with Mica paints.

Also, after watching You Tube I decided to try and organise my card and papers abit better.
so I went to the China store and bought some A4 storage stands.
I labelled them too.

They were stood as they are meant to be but as the shelf above did not allow me to get card out very easily from the toop, I decided to lay them on their backs.

And I bought plastic wallets for all the pieces that are smaller than A4 and inside the wallet I put an envelope to put all my die cut labels that I cut out all the time from odd pieces too.

So now I just have to swivel round on my chair and choose the correct coloured wallet, and slide it out, instead of having to stand up and pul the stand out to get the wallet or card out.

As I couldn't buy all the wallets in the correct colour to correspond to my card I used clear ones too.

Mask

Good Morning All
Another card today using my scraps.
My crafty friend Val lent me some masks and this one is a lovely butterfly one.
I used blue ink onto  LOTV paper.
I added some gem butterflies stuck onto die cuts and a couple of Dufex butterflies.

One Layer for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is CAS, chosen by Julie.

I used a new technique for me.
John Next Door did it on Hochanda a while ago.  stamped an image with glue then used Gilding  flakes. All stamped onto a CE Noble Pierced Rectangle.
The stamp is Alexandra from CE
Sentiment  heat embossed onto a Pierced flag.
Very pleased with how this turned out and will no doubt be using it again.

1st Cut & Fold

Good Morning All
I have done my 1st Cut & Fold book.
Once again, I had looked at these and thought they looked too complicated.
But I took the bull by the horns, and found a free pattern on my Book Folding Group on Facebook.
And here it is.

Very pleased with it and it wasn't as hard as I thought.
I,m doing a more complicated one now and will show it when completed.

Things With Wings for MAWTT

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times Challenge is hosted by Judith this time.
she would like to see Things With Wings.

I have used these big letters before and  was given them by Linda from Animal Aid.
The pretty backing paper was free in a magazine.  The green butterfly is from a Tonic Die and the gem one is from the local China store which I stick onto acetate and cut out.
Homemade bead pins and Sentiment.
I,m sure this will be  a popular challenge so why not pop over to the blog to peek at what the rest of the DT had made.

Parchment Border

Good Morning All
I have decided to clear my scrappy box, this is the box I keep by my desk and into it goes allsorts.  Bits of card, paper, die cuts, embellishments etc etc etc.
So this is the first of many cards I made starting last Saturday.
I was determined not to make anything else until this box was empty, totally.
When I buy any new stash I always cut or stamp afew to try it  out and some of these go into my scrap box.
This Sue Wilson striplet is one of those.
As you know, I cant sit watching TV doing nothing so I sometimes do abit of pricking or parchment work and this is one of those too.
Added the two together to make this card, joined with a piece of Satin ribbon.

London Underground

Good Morning All
I was asked to make a card for a ladies Grandson, 11 years old.  She sent me a pic of his bedspread, underground network in London and a pair of footy boots on it.
!!!!!!!!!!
Now that was a challenge.
Anyway, I found an old underground map in an old diary, it did have a couple of marks on which I covered with sentiment tags !!!

She always likes them personalised too.
I stuck the shirt and 'Grandson' on a piece of acetate so that he could lift it to see the old map.  This was from 2010, I think, so it had probably changed by now.
She was pleased with it, which I,m glad about as I only made the one.  As you may know I normally make two cards when asked, just to give them a choice.

A Note

[Allsorts Challenge DT Blog] New comment on Blog followers

Found this on another Blog Guys which explains why everyone is losing followers :)

In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.

As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other Open Id providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.

We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.
