Something New for Allsorts

Good Morning All

I shall take this opportunity to wish you all

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Allsorts Challenge this time is hosted by Mervi and the theme is Something New.
As you know I go on Facebook and there is a group on there for Journal Junkies.
I have never tried this before but it intrigued me so this is my first attempt.
This is the front and I used a gorgeous tag sent to me on my
first swap in another group on FB by a lady called Veonnifer.

The back with some handmade  flowers also sent by Veonnifer

Spine decorated with beads and danglers.

I will use it like a memory book, cutting bits out of magazine, poems, sayings, receipts etc.
As I suffer periodically with depression I thought this would be good to record thoughts.

Please note nail varnish missing off index finger on left hand - 2 days before I was having my nails done for Christmas, I was chopping veg for soup and took the corner off my nail and finger, so it was bandaged up when I had my nails done!!!!

I put 3 signatures inside
( these are sets of pages)

This is the first one.
All scraps of papers and envelopes, doilies too.

The middle one I kept in more summery colours.
The idea is, I think, to add journalling, glue pics, receipts, memory joggers, anything at all.

Some make them from used envelopes, junk mail
(which is where the name comes from I think).
I used lots from my scrap drawer which is why there are some tiny pages in the middle of each signature.

And this is the final one for a Wintery feel.
The two images are from a 12 x 12 set I have had for ages, didn't want to throw it away as I knew it would come in useful sometime.
The same with some  rectangle paper doilies too.
I have used one in each of the signatures,
as shown in the last photo.

The first part of this one I am keeping for recording my swaps.

And the final part to keep tags with my thoughts on.
I made a pocket for them and stamped with some very apt sayings from a John Lockwood stamp set.

Our Sponsor is Tattered Lace giving a lovely die set.

Box of Flowers

Good Morning All
I have posted before about a Swap Group I am in on Facebook, well this is another make for a swap.
The theme was Flowers in a Box - Alter, or make a box and fill with at least 6 handmade flowers.
The lady I swapped with has received this so I can show it on here.
I bought a box from the  China store for, I think, 1 euro as the corner was abit squashed, which I wasn't bothered about as I was decorating it anyway.
It had a lovely pic of  a baby peeping from under a blanket which I thought was too cute to cover.
So I painted around it with chalk paint. and thought I could do a roll back of paper around so that the baby was still showing.

The inside  had a lovely pink gingham in it so I just added lace along the top edges.

Then I found a small, cute image of a baby and used the same roll back technique as the top.

LOTV paper on the sides and lid,
all edges distressed and inked.

This gorgeous lace  around the lid with pearl trim.
I had to leave a gap to show the pic of baby and filled the gap with 'Too Cute'

This is the lid once finished

And I did add more than 6 flowers but I love making them so that's not a problem.
I always add afew extras with my swaps as the other ladies do.

****************
I had an email last week from the lovely Gail who was on my design team for MAWTT.
She is in Spain for afew months and guess where she is staying!!!!
The next town to me, so we met up on Wednesday and had a great chat, she is a lovely lady.
And she gave me a load of LOTV toppers, so kind, Thank you.
She is going to come to one of the craft meets in January.
*******
Later that day John and I went for a walk in Guadamar, the waves were  higher than usual too and we could see the damage the 2 days of torrential rain at the weekend had done on the beach.
The rain must have rushed down the side streets onto the promenade, then straight off onto the beach making rivers into the sea.
Here is a palm tree that was uprooted.

It was a beautiful day, clear blue sky and quite warm too.

***************

We are going to Benidorm for afew days, which we have done before but this time we are trying a different hotel.
See you on the 27th.
Have a great Christmas.

Final Christmas Card

Good Morning All
I made this card last year along with this one I made for my John HERE
Both similar but I was happy how they turned out.

I think the sentiment is stamped with a Docrafts stamp and heat embossed.
Sue Wilson 'Hollywood die in centre.
I think the swirl is Memory Box.
Various punched parchment flowers.
Paper is LOTV pad.

Altered Photo Album

Good Morning All

I saw this Simpsons photo album in the local charity shop and thought it was just begging to be altered.
This is a pic of the items I bought that day for about 3 euros.
I will show you the rest when I have done them.
I used the cloth with the pink flower on for this project too.

I gave it a quick coat of chalk paint just to hide some of the print because I was not sure how much of it would show through the fabric.

Inside the front and back covers.
I added a piece of pink felt to cover the fabric turn ins from the front.
The lace is part of a tray cloth.
Edged with pleated lace around the edges and tiny crochet doily in the corners with a pearl centre.

This is the cloth in the first pic that I used on the spine of the book.

I covered the book with wadding and fabric from a duvet cover, then topped with a piece of lace  tablecloth.

This is the back.
Crochet doily and a lace flower in centre.

All edged with pink and white gathered lace trim.

A beautiful satin flower made in the same way as my
Twisted Flower Tutorial at top of my blog.

Another handmade flower with lace centre
Two stick pins added.

And finally, the front.
Lots of bits used on this. The dark pink bits are from a scarf.
I added glass beads to the cut offs from the seam.
Some lace under the edge of the picture are scraps from the tablecloth

I am super pleased with this.
And hope you all like it.
But, most importantly, I thoroughly enjoyed doing it.
Now I just have to sell it!!!!
Just 25 euro to cover P&P from here in Spain, as I think it will be over 500gms

Blue Bingo for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Allsorts challenge this time is going to run for 2 weeks over the Christmas period.
Brenda has chosen a Blue Bingo for this one.

I decided to use the bottom line.
Masking using Texture paste through a mask
Dry Embossing - CE Wild Roses Emboss Folder
Blue and Purple - Purple mat and ribbon and Blue distress ink around edges.
(I'm afraid this all looks blue but I assure you that it is purple too.

I tried to photoshop it to alter the colour but not too sure so left both on. LOL

This is the inside using the leftover scraps.
