Altered Canvas

Good Morning All

Firstly I would like to thank everyone for my Birthday wishes, it was a sweet and a sad occasion, I have had some bad news concerning a very close friend, but we are trying to keep positive.

This is another 18 x 18 canvas I have painted over and decorated.

Once again, the space in the centre is for pics of my Grand kids.

Initial planning

 I painted the canvas in brown acrylic, then rubbed bits with pewter Gilding Wax.

Then just went to town on allsorts of embellishments.

Doilies, flowers, butterflies.

Texture paste through a mask.

I have got one more to do, so watch this space.

In the Pink for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Welcome to my new followers, I do try to show different types of crafts to show you all.
I hope you enjoy your visits, I know I enjoy seeing your comments.

Allsorts Challenge time again and Susan wants In The Pink.

When I was in UK in April I bought some Crackle Paint so I thought I would try it out.

I painted it onto card but it didn,t crackle very well, next time I will try on MDF or wood.

Anyway here is what I came up with.

I made a tag and embellished with a crochet doily, satin flowers, ribbon, tulle and leaves.

I made it into a card and added a circle sentiment from Scrappers delight, one of our sponsors for this challenge.

Age Related for MAWTT

Good Morning All

Moving Along With The Times Challenge this week is hosted by our lovely Jenny and she wants so see an Age Related Sentiment.

I used this cute topper from LOTV and it was for a mans 70th Birthday.

The paper is LOTV too.

I  added a homemade sentiment cut from Beer Carton.

Mono for Craft Rocket

Good Morning All

Craft Rocket Challenge this time is 'Mono', just 1 colour, mine is Brown.

I,m very pleased with this one, do you ever feel like that?

One card you make, you just love.

Lots of bits from my stash on this one.

The Maple leaves and the tiny goblet have been in my stash for years.

Picture Frame and Tiny Book Embellishment

Good Morning All

I got another picture from John Next Door before he left, I think there are a couple more in the wardrobe in the spare bedroom!!!

They are just a plain wood effect and this is it now.

I painted with Pink Crackle Paint which didn,t crackle as much as I would have liked.

Then rubbed on Copper Gilding Wax.

I bought the round bead and the wooden word              from Jennings 644.

The beige tassles are cut from a throw I used to cover my headboard!!!

I wrapped string around two sides and crossed at one corner

Love the look on Noahs face on this picure. 

Added one of my tiny book embellishments.

Crochet flowers.

Bead Charms.

Very happy with this.

And it now hangs on my wall.

Playing making Embellishments

Good Morning All

I have been playing around making some embellishments for either cards or altered projects.

These are teeny weeny book charms, but with another charm attached to the spine.

There are loads of tutorials on You Tube.

You can see here that they measure about 3cm x 5cm.

Some are a litlle bit smaller.

I have used one on an altered picture frame I have made and will show you in afew days.




Here are some charms I have made to attach to the spines.

There are about 4 pages in each book.




They could even be made with plain paper pages and you could write your own messages inside.

Little Love Notes !!!!

I wanted to use papers for the pages that had words or music on.

I found this paper in an LOTV paper pad from the Nitwits Collection and thought it suited the purpose perfectly

Once again, my ex Spanish teacher called me last week to make a card for his Anniversary.

Happy Birthday Allsorts

Good Morning All

Windows decided, on Wednesday night, to download Windows 10 for me, how flippin kind NOT.
Thursday morning I thought it wasn,t too bad until I tried to download some photos from my camera.
Normally, I put the memory card into my laptop then sort them out and save to specific folders in my Pictures, then open Picasa to enable me to get them on my blog.
This was having none of it so at present I,m not too sure where my photos are!!!!
Anyway, onto happier things.

Man Card Alert!!!

Good Morning All

I,m sure alot of you are the same as me and prefer to make Lady cards instead of Man cards.

Well I decided to take the bull by the horns and make afew.

This started because I found some card blanks I had won quite afew years ago from Creativity Magazine, they are 6 x 6 square and bright yellow!!!

I pulled some stuff from my stash onto my desk and got stuck in.
3 or 4 sheets of paper from this pad

Some papers from an LOTV paper pad.

Some toppers from an LOTV topper pad.

Here we go!!!!

These two are made from one topper.

            This is one topper cut in half
               then slightly overlapped.

Some tags, peeloffs and gems.

            This is cut into a square.

Bits of string and oddments of ribbon.

     And this one cut into three equal pieces.




              So enjoying myself, such fun.

More tomorrow.

Vintage for Allsorts

Good Morning All

It was wonderful seeing my friend from UK, it is like we have never been apart.
My John and her hubby got on really well too, they had only  met very briefly at Lucas' funeral so that was more than  5 years ago.

Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by Mervi and the theme is Vintage.

I made a wall plaque for this one.

Once again I resort to these lovely vintage  pics, not many left now though.

Lots of lace and pearls.

I made the dangler decoration with orange beads to match the peachy lace.

I made the embellishment in the corner with some odd glass beads, tulle, feather and a  flower.

The bronze heart is from local China store and I added a satin tassle which I thought suited the                                                                                       theme too.

I enjoyed making this and I love how it turned out.
It is now hanging on the wall in my craft room.
