Bring on the Bling at Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts challenge this week is hosted by Tracy and she wants to see 'Bling.'

I used the centre of the S/B Fleur de Lis Squares, cut it 5 times.  Stuck  4 of them onto a double sided sticky sheet, then glittered.  Glittered the fifth one and stuck right in the centre.  

Put some blingy pearls in the centres.

I cut a frame and then used Cheery Lynn Corner .....

Sue Wilson Perfect peony in the corner and some bling and ribbon in the opposite corner.

I used a circle sentiment form the sponsor Scrappers Delight.

in the inside of the card, stuck onto some lovely glittery pink card.

I have lots of these sentiments ready printed and mount them onto either Scalloped circles or Scalloped hexagons.

Also Brenda has donated this lovely paper pad as a prize too.

Hollies Christmas Card

Good Morning All

I wanted to show you this gorgeous card made and designed by Hollie

 (and maybe a little help from her Nursery School teachers)

Now this is definately one for my memory box.

Don't little things like this mean so much to us Nannas?

I still hve my boys cards that they made in Playschool too.

I bought her this hat, scarf and gloves set while I was there.

She needed it to keep her warm as

she walks to Nursery each morning, which I am glad about.

I do think too many kids get taken to school in cars and dont get enough exercise.

Little Book

Good Morning All

When I am at home I keep a Diary for writing reminders and lists etc etc.

So when I go away I dont want to take it with me as it is A5 size and as I am limited on weight and space when travelling with a budget airline.

So I decided to make myself a little book to take with me when I travel and I have kept it now as it is a good size to keep in my handbag all the time.

This is the tutorial I used on You Tube

I folded little squares of paper to use for lists and these slotted in the slots in the pages.
I copied reminders onto these too, from my big diary.

Quite cute and useful too.

Embossing for MAWTT

Good Morning All

I will try to catch up with you all in the next few days but we have got OH sons flying in this morning so I am trying to get unpacked, go to airport to pick them up AND I have new craft stuff that I want to play with!!!!!

Moving Along With The Times is hosted by our newer DT member today, Diane.

She would like to see some Embossing on your creations, either wet or dry, I used both on my card.

I used Crafts Too 'Sweet Lattice' A4 Embossing folder for the background and Bronze Gilding Wax.

Marianne Creatables LR0278 for the corners.

Marianne Craftables CR1249 for the square frame and the flowers and leaves.

Sentiment is from Woodware 'Singles' set of stamps, heat embossed in gold, although it doesn't show too good on this pic.

Wonderful time wth family, Hollie is so much fun.
Great time with John, helped him prep for the Hochanda takeover last weekend, such a talent and great company, Thank You John.

Craft Rocket Challenge this time is CAS, no patterned papers allowed.

I do find it hard to do CAS and I know I say that each time I post one for a DT card!!!

Family Book

Good Morning All

This is the Family Photo book I used the cereal box for that I mentioned the other day HERE.

I used most of the cereal box for this but couldn't throw the smaller piece that I

 had cut off, so I made the little date book on the linked post.

Here is the start of my inspiration frm Dawns Inspirations on You Tube.

This is the front cover before I decorated.

I used lots of card and lots of LOTV and Paper Capsule Papers.

I inked the edges of the covers.

I made it 8.5" x 8.5" and the spine is about2.5"

I have tried to include lots and lots of spaces for Photos to be stored.

Lots of pockets.

It is quite heavy and will be alot heavier once I have added photos!!!1

And finally this is the message I found that was very suitable for the front.

Then I die cut some letter from foam and attached ribbon around to tie it together.

I will show pages as and when I complete them.

Girly & Sparkly for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Second post today if all goes to schedule.
Allsorts Challenge today is hosted by Tracy Mouse and she want Girly and Sparkles.

 The card is an off cut from a Hunkydory kit which is gold and sparkly.  The paper is a pad my friend Val bought for me when we went to a local craft fair. I thought this one was really girly with perfume bottles on.

The butterflies are sticky backed,  added to acetate and cut out.

I used the remainder of the paper on the inside to try to cut down on my scraps box.

Anything Goes for Crafty Friends

Good Morning All

Crafty Friends Challenge this time is Anything Goes.

I have made two cards for this challenge and this first one is Cute as a Button image.

Please note that his boots are a very bright, sort of neon pink.
As OH is a great football fan, I do have to watch quite abit myself and I am amazed at the colours of some of the footy boots!!!!
In rugby matches alot are wearing bright pink shirts, quite amazing.!!!!
He loves rugby too.  Suits me though, as he watches so much sport I can go in my craft room.

I chose an image from each sponsor that were suitable  to make 'man' cards as I dont make enough of these.

Scrapbook Page

Good Morning All

I have been trying to get into my scrapbooking again.

I made one years ago when my Fiance was alive, and we knew he was not going to make it through all the treatments.

But I now have photos for Hollie, Noah and Aurora.  Plus my world travels in 2007.

So I have made afew pages for Hollies but I am now concentrating on my World Travels and I am going to put this as the back page when I met John, my OH.

The first pic is the one I use on my links for Google etc. 

 The one of John  was taken in Mar Menor in 2011 when Rick and Lorien visited.

There are mud pools at Mar Menor that are reported to be good for all ills.

So while they were bathing in the mud, John was sat on a bench reading his book.

I am pleased with how this turned out and am busy doing 24 pages for my World Trip.

More to follow!!!!

Flying to UK tonight to visit John next Door and Ricky, Lorien and Hollie.

So my blog visits will be very spasmodic.

Whenever I,m asked to make a card, I tend to make this style as it is so gorgeous.

A friend asked me to make a card for a work colleague that was leaving.

Spots & Dots at MAWTT

Good Morning All

My second post for today.
I must admit that I dont like doing two post on the same day as people tend to look at one or the other, not both.
But when DT  challenges fall on the same day, I dont  have a choice.

The theme this fortnight at Moving Along With The Times has been chosen by Jessie on Team B.

She would like to see Spots and Dots on your creations.

I took this opportunity to make Noahs Birthday card. Although this was back in November, I work well ahead on my DT creations.

The image is from Nicecrane, paper from LOTV and the tags made by myself using XCut sentiment dies.

I decorated the inside with a piece of the leftover paper and added a couple more tags.

Happy for Craft Rocket

Good Morning All

This is my first spot as a Design Team member for Craft Rocket Challenges.

I was happy to join this Design Team as we are not tied in to using digis.

The theme is 'Happy' what ever you want !!!!

I used my texture paste and a mask to make a background.

I cut two squares to make a frame and used it on the end part of a striplet I had cut  and covered wtih Iced Snow. 

Stupidly, when I was in UK I bought Creative Expressions Noble Pierced Rectangles and, I thought Squares too, but when I came to use them I had picked up Rectangles 'b' set instead of Squares. I felt like screaming, so cross with myself.

So I cut with X Cut dies and pierced the squares myself with  a needle stuck in cork!!!!!

The flower is cut with Perfect Peony die and stamped and coloured with Mica Paints.

Sentiment is stamped on a pierced tag I aquired from John Next Door.

Decorated up with ribbon, gems, bead pin, twine and pearls.

Afew have left a comment about the Google post the other day.
I think if you have a Google account and sign in Via Gmail you are OK.
I think some people may use Yahoo and this is changing, so you may not be able to comment.
I think.

Date Book

Good Morning All

I wanted to show you this tiny Date Book I made.

It came about because I was using a cereal box to make a Family Scrap Book following a tutorial of Dawns Inspirations  on You Tube HERE

This is a link to just one of her tutorials, she has loads on there and they are great.

Anyway, my cereal box was quite a large one and I cut it down to 8.5" high  there was this piece left of about 3" square. 

I couldn,t throw it so I made a mini date book.

 I made 10 pockets from odd scraps of thin card, and used the inside covers so that I had 1 place for each of the 12 months.

Used a circle punch to cut a lip from sides to make it easier to get each month out.

I used a spreadsheet on my computer to make a line for each months with dates.
Printed it into long strips then I could fold then up to slot into each page in book.

So this can be used to write down birthdays and anniversaries or any special dates to remember.

Those dates what you need to make a card for !!!!

Check out each month in advance then you are prepared.

Quite pleased with how this one turned out.

I will show the family scrap book on a future post, I have made it and inserted all the pages with lots of places for photos.

There are lots of pages so I may only show them when I have completed with photos.

It will all be of the Grandkids.

The inside cover is nearly completed, just need one photo of Noah on his first day with his day, as this is my first page - 

Each grandchild with their Dad on their first day of life.

Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.

As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.

We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.

Whats New for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Mervi is hosting the challenge at Allsorts this week and she would like to see 'New Stuff'.

Well I bet we all got new goodies for Christmas. I bought lots of new goodies when I went to see John Next Door and here are  couple of them.

I got some Texture Paste and a mask (after watching Julia Watts) and I love this technique and now want to buy more masks and paste (next visit !!!!!)

I also splashed out on some new dies and this is one of Sue Wilsons called Magical Butterflies.

It is a really good set as you get alot of  butterflies, inner and outers too, tiny and large.

This card just used three of them.

The sentiment is stamped on a 'pierced flag' die cut.
