Parents to Be Box Card

Good Morning All

A neighbour / friend asked me to make a card for her Daughter and Son In Law, as they had just found out they were going to be parents for the first time.

I wanted to make something really special as I knew it would be a Keepsake for them.

I decided to go with a box card as they are so easy to make and yet look so wonderful.
On the two side flaps I put a sentiment for the Proud Parents To Be.
Then just added lots of embellishments for the popup bits - flowers, balloons, presents etc etc.

Marlene was very very pleased with it and I hope her Daughter is too.

Give Thanks at MAWTT

Good Morning All

It is Thanksgiving in USA so the theme at Moving Along With The Times is 'Give Thanks'.

I have used loads of bits that had been lying around my desk.
(This was made before my big clean up!!!)
Whenever I do die cutting of corners or leaves or flowers etc, I always cut extras and keep them in boxes for future use, so I really do need to use them up.
A piece of diamond embossed card which I rubbed with a copper gilding wax.
The topper is from an LOTV pad, mounted on a doily.
Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer dotted about too.

I,m quite pleased with how this has turned out.
Pop over to the challenge blog to see all the other DT creations.

I would like to wish my gorgeous Grandson Happy Birthday and cant wait to see him next week.
And my Crafty Friend Lyn Happy Birthday too.

More Hunkydory

Good Morning All

Afew more of the cards I made from just two Topper sheets from Hunkydory.

I must admit that when I got the sheets out, I looked at them and really had to think about how to use them.  But once I got started I was away.
I used lots of bits from stash, especially scraps of paper and card.

Some of the card had a picture of a Teddy already printed on it, like the first card on this post and I wasn't quite sure where to start with it.

Anyway, it has helped fill the boxes ready for the stall on the 28th.

I think they look OK, not to everyones taste, but I hope they will sell well and if not the charities will have them.
I always get good feedback from them.

Last 5 in afew more days.

Hunkydory Extravaganza

Good Morning All

In my blog candy above, there are some Hunydory sheets included.
Now I have had these for quite a while and decided to use a couple of the topper sheets.
So instead of showing all that I made in one post, I will schedule over the next week or so while I,m in UK.
I am really pleased with how these turned out as I do find it hard to use this sort of thing but as I needed lots of cards for the fair on the 28th Nov I wanted some quicker makes and I made 15 cards in one afternoon.

I have also included some of this lovely A4 embossed card in candy too.

Nearly everything I have used is from my stash, trying to use bits of string, ribbon, paper scraps etc etc.

I even used little scraps of embossed card that were in my drawers.

This flower is Creative Expressions
Perfect Peony, I just love it.
I inked it while still in the die.

More cards to follow in afew days.

More than 3 Dies for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Allsorts Challenge time again and I am hosting this one.

I want people to use more than 3 die cuts on their creations which isn't too hard.
I cut a mat in red card and covered with a die cut from Sissix 'Iron Gate'.
The 25th Dec is a die cut that I cut in my craft meet, not sure whose it is sorry.
The poinsettias are a Leanne die cut and the tutorial for these is on the top of my blog.
And finally the circle sentiment  from Netty is stuck onto a S/B circle die cut.
Finally added a ribbon bow with 2 of my bead pins which I still have for sale in sidebar.

Man card

Good Morning All
Keeping busy as I have a Craft Fair coming up on the 28th.   and MIL aarrive that evening too to keep OH company while I am in UK for 12 days.
The Fair is being held at the local English bar where we have our craft and slimming meetings.
It is very small fair  but I hope it goes OK.
Having to fill my boxes with 'man' cards, 'Sympathy' and Get Well.
My Ladies box is always full as that is the type of card I prefer to make, with lots of flowers and pretty things.

This is the type of quick card I have been making.

I  know it sounds awful, but I dont go to alot of time and trouble as I sell them so cheap, 5 euro for 7 cards,
Still trying to use up a load of old stash too, including Peeloffs !!!!
The fair is in aid of our village, for the folks that have no job, so no income at all.

Letterpressed Background

Good Morning All
I watched a video Sue Wilson made on Tuesday 10th November HERE, using Mica Powders to Letterpress. I thought I would give it  a try on black card, as the Micas I have are all  pastel colours.

I love how it turned out.  I used afew different colours as shown here.
Below is the card I made with it, using a 6 x 6 scalloped card blank and Sue Wilson Ornate Ovals as the sentiment.
I did have to use afew butterflies to hide my messy heat embossing.
I coloured this too with Mica powders, used as paint.
The shimmer doesn't show up too good on the pics but looks great in real life.

Anything but a Card for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by Tracy Mouse and she doesn't want cards, anything but.
So I made a couple of boxes for cards to go in and these will go as raffle prizes at slimming club.

I was given some cards, shop bought ones, to see if I could use them for toppers etc.  I thought it was a shame to cut them up as they are so cute.

They are quite small, 4 x 4 and there is 16 of them with envelopes too, so I split them into 2 lots and made two boxes.

Once again, used all old stuff, peeloffs across the top and the front of the green one.

Quilled flowers and a die cut stuck onto an embossed piece of card

This gorgeous corner die cut is one I cut a craft meet, I think it is Memory box.

CHALLENGES

Scraps of ribbon used on both boxes.  I now keep all scraps in a plastic bag and use them whenever I can.
I thought whoever wins one of these could use the box for a gift, maybe chocolate!!!

My Fave Things for MAWTT

Good Morning All
My mate Ang, Mrs Duck is hosting the challenge this time at Moving Along With The Times.
She wants you to use  favourite things from the song from The Sound of Music.

I chose to use this cute topper from LOTV.  The paper has snowflakes on it and I think it is Docrafts.
Poinsettia flowers cut from Parchment  with Leanne die.  Ivy corner from Cheery Lynn.
Sue Wilson 'Just For You' Ornate Ovals die.

So for the Favourite Things -
Brown Paper Packages tied up with string (OK not brown paper but Christmas paper)
Snow Flakes that stay on my nose and my lashes.
There are some brilliant creations by the DT so why not pop over to the challenge blog to see them.

Clean Craftroom

Good Morning All
I took these pice a cuple of weeks ago when I had completely cleaned and sorted out my craft room after having the window cleaners in to do inside and out.
You can see why I have to move everything for the window cleaners.  It was originally an open veranda and the previous owner had it all glassed in, so gets very, very hot in summer.

I bought the little veg. trolley on wheels a while ago and it is great for pulling upto the side of me and putting stuff I need  at hand.  Like one of the drawers with the colour of paper or card I am using at that time.  It leaves more of my desk space free to actually work on.  I did get to the point where my only workable space was my glass mat, now I'm determined to keep more space free to work and to keep it TIDY.

These are the two book cases behind me where I heep everything, alot is in plastic boxes and nearly all labelled.

And finally, this is my desk and to the left of this is a unit with cupboards where I keep my stamps and inks in one side and punches and odd bits of material in the other.  And on top is my Cut N Boss.
I love being in here now, I was getting to the point where I didn't want to craft as I was getting frustrated with it being so untidy and messy.
As you can see, when I'm sat at my desk I can see the world go by right outside the apartment.

Nordic Christmas

Good Morning All
A short while ago I posted some cards that I had made using Poinsettia digis and they matched some papers that John (Next Door) had left me when he moved back to UK.

Well this batch of cards is using some more papers he left and they needed very little embellishing as the paper said it all.  They have a sheen on them too, like Centura card.

The paper pad is called Nordic and it has some really pretty papers in and they are a good weight

They have boosted my stock of Christmas cards as Diane (from a Cancer Charity) came and collected a second lot and I have a Fair to do on the 28th Nov too so need to keep afew for that.  But I do think alot of people will already have their Christmas cards by then so not going to take too many.

Ribbons & Bows for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Second post from me today and this is for Allsorts Challenge.
Mervi is hosting this one and she would like to see Ribbons and Bows.

For my Christmas cards this year I have not bought any new stuff, I am using things that have been in my Christmas box for a good few years and this gorgeous ribbon with the holly and berries on is one such thing, I dont even know where it came from but it is so lovely.  I didn't need to add much more to it, so I just cut a border using Sue Wilson Gemini Cygnus die, added two more types of ribbon for the bow and a circle sentiment from Netty HERE.

Mums Birthday

Good Morning All
I wasn't going to post this morning but I wanted to show you this card I made for Mums Birthday which was on Tuesday, she is 91 this year.

I love these Perfect Peony dies from Creative Expressions and want to get the stamps that go with them, that
John (Next Door) was demoing afew weeks ago on Hochanda, they will have to wait until I go over in December.
This is my messy desk while making the card, craft space gets smaller and smaller !!!!

My friend Val attends my craft meet and her daughter crafts too.  Lynn taught herself to knit last year and has been busy  making hats and scarves to sell in her shop.
This is her display, dont they look gorgeous.
She did not mind me putting the pic on here.

Parchment Poinsettias

Good Morning All
This is the Christmas card I made for the two guys that run the bar where we have our slim and craft meets.

I love the way this turned out and love the parchment Poinsettias with lovely big shiny gems in the centres.
All done on Centura Pearl card.

I took a leaf out of Johns book and matted and layered 4 times!!!  His cards look so classy having more layers and narrow borders too, I think he uses just a half centimetre  borders.
I put the sentiment in Spanish as they do get Spanish  customers in the bar and  we are in Spain !!!!!

Hope you all have a lovely day.

Catrina Book Fold

Good Morning All
Wow, I had to do some cleaning up yesterday.  The wind and rain hit during Sunday night and I got up on Monday to  -----
The outside sofa had gone down the block as had 2 planters with cacti in, they had emptied their contents along the way, so soil and stones all over the place.
Rain had come in the front windows in my craft  room and the curtains are were wet and the side window in the utility room so all my washing powder is wet.
I knew I should not have had the windows cleaned!!!!!
******
Another Book Fold to show you today.
I was asked to make this by a customer at the bar where I show my books.

I really enjoy making the flowers for all the books too.
The top ones are called Kusadama and the big gems I have are perfect for the centres, too big for cards but great for these.

Penny Black at Allsorts

Good Morning All
It is my turn to be a GDT for Penny Black  at Allsorts and the theme is Christmas.
I coloured my cute hedgehog with Promarkers.  The paper is some freebie that I printed off, not sure where from, and the sentiment is a freebie from Netty on her blog.

I bought some Latex makeup sponges and used this to blend the edges of the image,  much better than my homemade blenders.
I,m still using all my scraps and bits for my Christmas cards, even short pieces of ribbon, as this is, not enough to make a bow but enough just to fold like this.

Have a great day.
