About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Pretty Simple

Good Morning All
From reading afew blogs this morning it sounds like we have swapped places with the weather, we had rain and grey skies and it sounds like the UK is having sunshine and blue skies.

This is a very simple card and I thought it would suit as a Sympathy or just Hello card.

Marianne Butterfly, Spellbinders Blossom flower, I embossed white card on Cuttlebug matted onto cream.

News

Good Morning All
I have been so busy trying to get lots of cards made as there WAS going to be a fayre on 11th July at the usual British bar here in the village, just to be told yesterday that it was to be no longer, no permit allowed so they cannot have stalls.  The same thing happened last November, then at Easter , the Mayor let them have a permit, what goes through his head, I dont know but it is so flippin' annoying.

Anyway, onto better things, we are having a Birthday Party on 26th June for Moving Along With The Times.

Thursdays challenge will include a blog hop and there will be quite alot of prizes available, including one to win on my blog.

This is a Stamp Fairy digi coloured with Promarkers, homemade sentiment tags, Spellbinders 'Fleur de Lis' square, scrunched ribbon and buttons given to me at Christmas by my friend Val.
Have a good Sunday.

Sissix Die

Good Morning All
Welcome to my new followers and, Patricia, I hope the new font helps.

****

Happy Birthday to my eldest boy today, 35 years, how time flies.

********

A quick post this morning as I am going to Doctors to get results of a regular 6 month blood test.

******

I love this Sissix Die 'Iron Gate'.  I have made two wedding cards of a similar design.

Under the die I have added lilac handmade paper with pressed leaves in it, added a large flower over the large satin bow.

I cut  hearts from Congratulations paper and put some on the inside and punched hearts on the corners too.

The second one is all plain pink under the die and narrow satin pink ribbon.

Crochet Pram Blanket

Good Morning All
While I was staying at my sisters in the UK, she mentioned that she wanted a crochet pram/cot blanket for a friend so I volunteered to make one while she was away in Canada.  I had previously started doing a square when I was at Mums in February, so I continued with that one and made it the size to fit a cot and here it is.

I used colours of white and peppermint green, so that it would not matter if it was a boy or girl.

After seeing this one and the one we made for Mum from lots of smaller squares HERE, Megan, Noahs Mum, asked me if I would do one in shades of blues, made up of squares like Mums.  She wants it for Noahs cot, so I am busy working on that now, trying to get it done by end of July so Johns Mum can take it back with her after her visit, and post it for me.

Sparkle & Glitter

Good Morning All
This week the theme for Charisma Cardz Challenge is 'Sparkle & Glitter' and we are sponsored by Bugaboo  and Sassy Studio Designs.

I used a Bugaboo image and coloured with Promarkers

I added sparkle on the bubbles but I could not get it to photograph properly.

There is also glitter on the paper too, and pink and white glitter card borders.

Cheery Lynn Roses die for flowers, some with shiny pearl centres.  Pink gems added here and there.

Still trying to use up my peeloffs, so I stuck one on the envelope and one on the inside of the card.

Rainbow Parchment

Good Morning All
I thought I would show you this gorgeous parchment card I made a while ago.

I think the  parchment looks so effective mounted onto this rainbow card.  I do tend to use brads to attach the parchment to card as I find most glues do show though.  The flowers are also parchment, coloured and embossed in two layers.

Thank You All

Good Morning All
I want to say a BIG thank you to everyone for my gorgeous Birthday Cards - Ang (Mrs Duck), Hazel (MAWTT), Brenda (Allsorts), Debs, Ginny, Val Spain, Lin Spain, Gill .  I think this year is the best year for receiving cards, so thanks to one and all.  I had a lovely day spent at Chester Zoo with my Son, DIL and Hollie (so special)

All unpacked and washed etc etc.

John Next Door has decided to move back to the UK and he is clearing out his craft room and I am benefiting from it. !!!!!
Lots of stash coming my way, but also thanks to a customer of his who gave him a load of stash, which he has given me some to make cards for my charities here, that I support.

I want to say a BIG  Thanks to my eldest sister for staying at her house and we thoroughly enjoyed looking after her two dogs.

This is Max, he is the elderly one and suffers with arthritis.  So mild mannered.

This is Buddy, a Beagle, just 4 years old but so lazy.  He moves from his bed in the porch to his bed in the back room.

And for this bundle of craft goodies I want to thank Ang (Mrs Duck), this is the candy I won won her blog, so delicious, thank you, and for my gorgeous Birthday card.

I look forward to seeing my craft buddies at meeting on Thursday, lots of new stuff to bring along.

*********************************************************************

This is a blanket we (me and my sisters and niece) have made between us, for my Mum for her 90th Birthday in November.  We knitted and crocheted squares and I crocheted them all together and edged it while I was in UK.  I hope she likes it, it is to keep her warm through the winter while she sits in her chair and it is big enough to use as a throw for her bed too.  My niece also contributed a bag to put it in that she had made too, which I forgot to photograph, sorry Tracy.

Have a good Sunday everyone

Good Morning All
Home at last, loved the visit but it is always nice
to get home isn't it?
********
Allsorts Challenge time again and the theme is 'One Layer' chosen by Jo.
I think this is the most simple CAS card I have ever made.

My friend lent me a set of dies so I cut the cross and lightly inked the edges, added a homemade circle sentiment with matching ribbon and that's it, simples.

Time to go home Tomorrow.  Sorry to leave but looking forward to going home.  34 degrees I believe, so I wont be sorry to leave this rain and cold behind.
I think everyone has had a good time, my two sisters on their own holidays, Ricky, Lorien  and Hollie here with me for a week and me and John  seeing our families too.

Ready For Home

Good Morning All
My sister arrives home today after visiting her daughter in Canada, and we leave for home on Friday, I am getting  ready for home, this is the longest I have been away, nearly 4 weeks.  Missing my craft room and the weather of course.

The flower is using the technique on the page at the top of my blog, all the rest is scraps that were on my desk.  I think the leaf is a Memory Lane die but this  was brought to the craft meeting by one of the ladies. It is great that we swap and lend each other dies and papers etc.
***********
There was a lovely letter from Carol, the lady I met after she read my letter of the month last month.  We hope to meet again soon when I get back and before she has an operation.
***************

This is the little gorgeousness that I am missing, she is so cute, talking and being cheeky, loving, sweet, lovely, a little madam.

And this is my other little gorgeousness, Noah.  6 Months old now and so sweet, always smiling (well nearly always, LOL)

Eyes to die for, so gorgeous.  Lots of slobber 'cos he is teething, already got 2 on the bottom and the top ones nearly popping through.

I will miss them sooooooo much when I go home on Friday, missing Hollie already.

This is Noah's Christening Cake, part chocolate and part vanilla and very delicious.

Something for the Boys

Good Morning All

As it is the 1st of the month, it is time for a new challenge at Ladybug Crafts and the theme is 'Something for the Boys'  or  'Use Dies'

I used this cute LOTV topper, I do love these, and it is pre coloured too.  Matted it onto brown and beige card,  inked the edges, and made it into an easel.  Added gems and sentiments, ribbon and cut a doily to edge the sides and top.
Hope you like it and will pop over to the challenge blog to have a go.

Good Morning All
The challenge this week at Hobbycutz has been set by Lin and she does NOT want to see any designer paper.

I used a sweet image form  the sponsors called Fairy Nuff, coloured her with Promarkers.  I glittered one of Hobbycutz lasercut butterflies and left the flourish plain.  I used some PaperMania circles to make a pattern on the side.
