About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Ice Cream Mmmmm

Good Morning All
Hollies birthday today, how time flies.  We have been on Skype this morning before Daddy takes her to the zoo, she waves at me now and kisses the screen and says 'Nanna' .  Just so cross that she has not received my card which was posted in the UK last week with a 1st class stamp on it too.  It will be on my blog tomorrow and it is a very special one so please pop in  and have a peep.
Todays card is one from a decoupage House Mouse set I have 'Gruffies'.

So cute, dipping into a tub of Ice Cream.

Wall Flowers

Good Morning All
I wanted to show you this wall hanger that I made at the weekend.  I have only just got a decent camera (I borrowed from my neighbour).

I used Spellbinders scalloped circles in 3 diminishing sizes for the top one then reducing in size going down.  All in pinks, lilac and black.  Flowers made with Cheery Lynn roses dies. I have been making loads of these flowers and now have three boxes full  in various colours, except when John Next Door pinches a hand full when he visits my craft room.!!!!!!

I stamped and heat embossed the verse on the top one.  (Sorry for the flash.)

I added small pearls to the centres of some of the flowers and used liquid pearls for others.

The black flowers are Spellbinders 'Bitty Blossoms'.  Mei Flowers shiny butterflies.

Added gems and liquid pearls on the scallops.

I,m on countdown now until Sunday when I fly to UK.  So looking forward to seeing all my family and especially my eldest son and his girlfriend, she is getting bigger by the day, due in November.  Had abit of bad news about Mum though, she had to be taken to hospital outpatients yesterday after an eye test, the optician did not like what he saw and sent her to hospital.  All seems to be OK though but she keeps banging her legs on things and her skin is not healing too good.  Ain't age a horrible thing?  but it gets to us all.  Looking forward to seeing Hollie though with her Mum and Dad later on in my holliday.

On Skype last night, she was looking at Ricks ipad thingy and smiling and waving to me, so cute.

Those eyes you could fall into couldn't you?

Sunday Mojo 20

Good Morning All
Abit late this morning, why?  Because my camera blew off the coffee table in my craft room during the week and I have borrowed one from a neighbour and I keep getting blurred pics so this one isn't perfect but the best I can do.

This is the items I gave John Next Door to play with.

This is what I came up with, it is a holder for oil and you stand wooden sticks in it to scent the room.

I do love this shade of ribbon, a beautiful turquoise.  Johns idea looks great to, both of  using a smelly idea!!!!!  John took the picture at the top and the items look more green than turquoise, I would say the true colour is abit between the two.

We are taking a break for August as we are both taking holidays during this month so we will see you again for Mojo in September, and remember, if anyone wants to play we will post goods out to you.

Cute Poppet

Good Morning All
I have nearly reached 200 followers, this was pointed out to me by Naomi at Creative Bug on the Loose and she has made me a lovely badge to display when I get there, thanks Naomi.  Now I need 6 more followers before I can display it.  Please...........................

A fairly simple card from me today featuring a Paintbox Poppet.  I think she is such a cutie, such a sad expression on her little face.

I have used a negative from an X cut Die and kept it very simple, just added a ribbon bow and a sentiment and gems.  The background is a sort of web material, given to me by Linda from Animal Aid in one of the bags of goodies she gives to me.

Desk Tidy

Good Morning All

I have been working on this altered item for ages.

I used different sized tins and one plastic cup and the lid off a Quality Street tin.

If you remember on one of the Sunday Mojos when John gave me a book see it here, I used some of the pages from the book to cover the tins.  Here is how it started out.

I lined the insides with various shades of card.

Then I painted with Acrylic paints and I put a pretty pink paper around the plastic  one.

And this is how it ended up.  I decorated with flowers and gems and ribbon and buttons and butterflies, now isn't that a surprise?

Doodling

Good Morning All

The theme for this weeks challenge at Crafty Friends Challenge is 'Doodling' chosen by Lisa G.  I wasn,t too sure about this one - doodling Mmmmm what do I do?  I chose this gorgeous image from Eureka and coloured with my Promarkers, as you all know, I love butterflies and flowers.  I doodled with a glue pen and sprinkled glitter on it to make the swirly patterns.  I added a homemade bead pin and sentiment and tied a ribbon on my bowmaker and voila.

Good Morning All
I,m pleased to announce that the plaques I made HERE  for the slimming club went down very well yesterday, all the girls were well pleased when Pam gave them all out.

It is my turn to host the challenge at Allsorts this week and I have chosen 'Transport'.  I expect to see all different types from bikes to scooters to trains, planes and automobiles.  The winner will be chosen randomly but the top 3 will be chosen by 'moi', so I will be hopping by to visit all of you who enter.

I have done a decoupage of a steam train mounted on embossed green card.  I bought these lovely embossing folders with sentiments on - 'best friend' and '1st class' - which I thought were really suitable for this card.  I stamped the sentiment on another piece of green card.

Strawberry Cake

Good Morning All
Last night I called on John Next Door and he had been baking, (he is a wonderful cook).  He had made Strawberry butterfly cakes, so of course, he asked me did I want a couple for me and my John, would I refuse?, I dont think so.  (Yummy it was too).
It made me think of a card I had made a short while ago using a digi from Milk & Coffee called 'Charlotte and her Strawberry Pudding'

Coloured with Promarkers, a Spellbinders Bitty Blossom and quilled flowers, computer generated sentiment and some ribbon I bought in USA years ago, it has tiny sparkles threaded through it, dont know why I,ve not  used it before.   She is cute isn't she.

Scraps

Good Afternoon All
Now that the fair is over and I have made all the plaques for the  Slimming Club I need to get on with clearing up my desk and craft room.  Here are afew pics of how it looked this morning.

I hardly have any work space left.!!!!1

Every spare bit of space is covered, so I really do need to have a sort out and tidy up.
This is my scrappy box that I throw loads of bits of allsorts in and now it needs clearing out.

As I sold quite afew ladies birthday cards on Monday I need to replace the stock ready to give Linda a bag for her charity 'Animal Aid'.  Also, I go back to UK in a couple of weeks, and when I get back here I want to start making Christmas cards.  I have done most of my DT cards for the 10 days I am away, but I will be taking my laptop with me to keep on top of commenting and challenges too.  I will be staying with my Mum for a couple of nights and then, hopefully, one of my sisters.  I am so looking forward to seeing everyone, and Ricky and Lorien are coming up north to a friends Christening so I will see Hollie too.

Here is a couple that I have made this afternoon.

Sometimes I do like to just make cards with whatever is around, just sit there and think' yea, that will look OK on there,  and then other times, I plan what  I want to make, what I want to use, design etc.  How about you?

A man card using bits left over from one of our Sunday Mojos that John gave me and some of the lovely tags I made.

A boxed baby card or rather an envelobox with an acetate front.

Plaques

Good Afternoon All
Wow, what a day yesterday.  I thought it was not going to be all that good at the fair but, although it was quiet, I did sell quite alot and took a fair amount of money to replace stocks with and also, to donate 3 bags of shopping (done this morning) to give to the poor in the village.

The bar did not charge an entry fee, just asked people to bring a bag of non-perishable food.  When I took mine round this morning, half of the floor in the bar was covered with bags, waiting to be collected by people from the town hall who will distribute it to the families.
A pic showing the van loaded  this morning of all that was donated last night.

I packed away at about 9pm and brought the car home with all the stuff in, then we went back to enjoy the music.  It had been very hot during the day but was just perfect last night and we sat outside  until around midnight, a great day all round I think.  It was also lovely to meet Val, who visits my blog and leaves a comment.  She makes cards too and bought some of my crochet flowers and bead pins and some earrings too. Thank you Val, I will be  in touch about teaching you to crochet. xxxxxx

Anyway, now onto todays project - at my 'fat club', Pam, the leader, asked me to make some plaques for her to give all the members when we take a break for afew weeks in August.  She had shown me a picture on the internet and asked if I could do 15 similar, so here they are, all finished, ready to go to her on Friday.

Close ups of afew.  I used the hard backs from books that John Next Door gives me from ones  that are to be thrown away.  I cut them in half and covered them with nice paper, punched holes with Crop-o-dial for the ribbon/hanger.  The sample Pam showed me had used small chalk boards to write the target weights on but I used different shapesd Post-It note pads.

I have tried to mix the colours and the embellishments.  I found the paper on the pic above of inches and I thought this was very appropriate, but only had enough to make 4 with it.

Fair Day

Good Morning All
Today is the day of the fair at the local English bar to raise money for the poor in the village.  At the moment it is cloudy and I hope it stays that way so that it will be a little cooler.
I,m posting a Marianne Die card today.

I love this corner die, it is so pretty.  I did make a mistake, I got silicone glue on the ribbon so I covered it up by adding afew more splodges and sprinkling with glitter!!!! What do you think?
