Good Bye

Good Morning All
I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  Ours was mixed as we received the very sad news that one of our quiz team members, Pat, who we see on Sunday nights, passed away on Thursday, very suddenly.  We could not go to the quiz as it would have been so very strange sat there without Pat.
Anyway, onto more pleasurable things - crafting.  Also a little bit sad because this is my last challenge for Love to Create,  I have really enjoyed my time with them but I feel that I would like to move onto new pastures.  Love to Create was one of my very first DT positions.

The theme this week is Dies/Punches and the sponsor  is Dr. Digi House of Stamps.

I used my X Cut Large dies to make an easel card and used one of the sponsors images 'Genie'

Paper  was going cheap in a craft shop when I was in Kettering, I think it came from a magazine.

The 'Just for You' tag has been in my stash for ages, years in fact.

Then I just added a stamped sentiment, afew gems and a home-made bead pin.

Have fun with this challenge.

Sunday Mojo No. 8

Good Morning All
It was my turn to present John Next Door with the challenge goodies for this week and I was thinking 'Black & White'.
I thought I would try something different than a card so I recovered a glass jar from the recycling bag.  I recycle as much as possible and here in Spain there are bins for paper, glass and plastic / cartons / tins, and even used cooking oil, on nearly every road, so that is great.

I used PVA glue and covered it with torn pieces from a novel used in a previous Sunday Mojo (used here).  Then I really just decided to cover it with all the bits, I used alot more flowers besides cutting one out from the paper - the big black one.  For the lid I cut a scalloped circle from the grey coloured paper, then cut into it so that it would curve down the lid sides and tied the black ribbon around it.  I used a hot glue gun to stick everything onto it for a more secure finish.  I inked the flowers on the lid with memento ink pad and added some pearls.

I think I will make more of these for gifts and fill them with bath salts or sweets.

CHALLENGES -----
Joanna Sheen - Recycle
That Craft Place - Altered Item
Crafty Ribbons # 44 - Anything with ribbon

This is my second item and back to a card again.

CHALLENGES -----
Pile it On # 17 - April showers bring May Flowers

This is the pack I gave John, oops I have just realised I did not use the buttons, but then again, we don't have to use everything and we can add to it.

Have a lovely Sunday, we will probably be out having a walk and then stopping for a bacon butty by the time this post goes out.  Mmmm yum yum.

Anything But Not A Card

Good Morning All
Allsorts time again and the theme this week is Anything But Not A Card so get your thinking caps on and away you go.

I chose a Digidarla Sentiment and decided to make another book, a sort of diary/ reminder book for birthdays, appointments etc.

This is a brilliant way of using all your bits - short pieces of ribbon or twine, any odd flowers and any odd embellishments, see further down on this post.

I made a mistake by cutting two holes in the wrong side of the front, so I cut corresponding holes in the back and put some rope through to use as ties for keeping closed.  These were very, very white so I rubbed some ink on them to tone them down, the same colour ink as I used for the edges of the sentiment and the front and some embellishments.

Inside this book I put quite afew leaves,  folded and glued to make pockets to store any bits and bobs - photos, appointment cards or any other stuff.

This is the inside of the first cover.  I used a sheet from Astrid Artistic Efforts HERE and I made a book mark and slotted it on the inside.

Then a full year of monthly diary  sheets from Cuddly Buddly HERE.

I use these for my birthday reminders.

I only stuck these down at one edge so that they can be removed at the end of the year and fresh ones glued in without making too much mess.
I glued the remainder of Astrids sheet on different pages.

Odd bits of waste peel-offs to make the pouch stand out.

I tied strips of webbing on coloured paper clips, both to use and for decoration.

I stuck envelopes on some pages, and on others, I glued triangles of card  to make a little pouch for storing photos or cards.

I cut tags that could be used as a title card for what is stored in that pouch.  I cut these from pieces of birthday / Christmas cards that people give me to recycle.

I carried on decorating the pages with odd bits that I had on my desk and in my scrappy box (which is getting very full again, I will have to have a splurge again soon).

A different envelope.

Another piece from Astrids sheet.

On the back sleeve I had a larger print of the sentiment so I made another pocket with it and put a tag in it.

This piccy show the top edge of the book and the bits of  web / ribbon tied around the page clips.

An odd scrunched paper flower and a felt flower stuck to the middle of it.

I loved making this book and could probably have used alot more bits.

Back to the Challenge -------
Digidarla Designs will give the winner 5 images of choice.
And Pin & Tack who are giving a  $10 voucher

Here is another example of a book using the same sentiment.

                                                                          Front Cover
Not as many embellishments though.

Inside
At my slimming club we have a raffle every week. We all take a piece of fruit or a tin of something, I took this book and a lovely lady won it whose hubby had passed last year (I think) and she said she would use it to keep memories of him in - snippets from newspaper, cards and notes etc etc, which I thought was a lovely
                                                                idea.

As a result of that I got orders for four others too.

Have fun with this challenge and I look forward to visiting your blogs to what you have created.

Sunday Mojo No. 7

Good Morning All
The challenge from John Next Door only arrived on my window ledge yesterday morning, I did not think he was going to supply any goodies this week as he has, and will be very busy for the next few weeks as he is appearing in out local Am Dram production called 'Bewitched' so he is in training so to speak.
This was the package
It is a pack of card blanks, a sheet of toppers, 4 sheets of coloured card, a length of material, a mirri oval and 3 chip board buttons.  The toppers were so gorgeous I had to make more than 1 card so here they are.
   This is the first four.

This is an A4 made with the yellow card.  I was not sure about putting the yellow, green and cream with lilac but one of the toppers has lilac flowers on so I thought I would try it.

This one is very plain and simple, just one of the toppers cut into a scalloped circle, inked the edges and a sentiment added.

I cut the aperture from this one and cut a fancy circle and stuck one of the toppers to it.  Added a butterfly and a sentiment. and gems.
I think I  like this one best.  I used the cream card and folded into an easel but added acetate over the last two folds and put one of the toppers inside and mounted another one onto the mirri oval and stuck on the outside.  Tied some ribbon through the chipboard buttons as shown.
CHALLENGES-----
One Stop Crafts # 225 Not Square
Nutcrafters Anything Goes
Dream Valley Challenges # 55 - Things with Wings
This the final one I made last night.  I stitched some of the fabric into a flower and it was a bit lopsided so I stuck a bow over it , added afew butterflies and bits and bobs.

A Passion For Flowers

Good Morning All
The Allsorts challenge this week is a little different for us DT members because Brenda sent us all the same kit to design a card with.  I thought this was a brilliant idea, to see what different creations we all came up with.  This is mine - the theme is Flowers.
I have to admit that I did make a mistake, I messed up the flowers that Brenda sent me and had to substitute some quilled ones made with some of the paper that was left over.  All the tags are garden / house  related messages - 'I,m in the Shed'   'I,m in the Garden'   'Open House'

We are sponsored this week by
 The Ribbon Girl
10 GBP voucher

And
Passion for Stamps
4 images of winners choice

So there are some great prizes on offer and I,m sure there will be some great creations for us to look at.  The crafting world is your oyster, as they say, flowers, flowers and more flowers, go ahead and make the most of this great challenge.

Pretty Pearl

Good Morning All
I made this card a little while ago for a commission, someone referred to me by Linda from Animal Aid.  She wanted a 'Pearl Anniversary' card but very pretty.  I always think that when we buy or make an anniversary card we aim for the lady more than the man, therefore, pretty and feminine.

I used pearlised card in a slightly off white shade.  Marianne LR0236 die for the gorgeous trellis shape and an embellishment from stash (years old, bought in USA).
Marianne  flowers LR0106 and Spellbinders Bitty Blossom and I put pearls in the centres.
I printed a sentiment on the computer and added ribbon and butterfly.

I made a box/ envelope using my Crafters Companion board and decorated it with a homemade crochet heart with a pearl centre.

Change of Subject ------------

I got these last night

I just LOVE this one.  The look on her face-'If you DARE to pinch my chocolate'
I know it wasn't the choccy I took her as I bought white chocolate!!!!!!

Another change of subject -------------
A couple of pics I took yesterday when we went for a walk at La Mata beach, people swimming on this one.

And sunbathing here on the lovely beach.
This is a beautiful beach and gets extremely busy in July and August.  We love going for a walk along here as there is a board walk all the way along.

Sunday Mojo No. 6

Good Sunday Morning All
I have made two cards for my challenge with John Next Door.  He is getting afew more visitors to his blog and he is made up, he does make some wonderful creations.

This is what I gave him -

This is the first one I made - used the foils to do some T-bag folding and mounted onto a scalloped hexagon with the flower button in the middle.  I was given the gorgeous cream corner swirl whilst in the UK from one of my Docraft buddies - Chris Lee, she sent me loads and I love her for her kindness.
This is my second one using the vellum to make a sleeve over a brown base card, cut an aperture in the vellum and the same shape in a different shade of brown card for the inside.
I crocheted a gorgeous butterfly from the instructions on this lovely lady's blog, they are very quick and easy to do if you can crochet basic stitches.
As I wanted to use most of the stuff chosen, I decided to put and extra insert inside using a different shade of brown card, and I decided to use the piece of vellum that had been cut out from the front.
I just quickly wanted to show you afew more of the butterflies I have made in different colours.
I wonder what John will come up with for next weeks mojo challenge.  Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Paper Piecing

Good Morning All
We are half way through this months Forever Friends Challenge and the theme is 'Paper Piecing'.

My card shows a Pink Gem digi
I cut out his shirt and boots in yellow paper to match my colour scheme of orange and yellow and brown.

Dies used---
Sissix Framelits Scallop Square

This shows how I folded my 12 x 36cm card - scored at 12cm, 24cm, 28cm, 32cm and 34cm.
My Forever Friends paper piecing is this one and I pieced the checked shawl.
Crochet a little blanket and a heart.

My Mistake------------------------

This is the first card I have made is a 'Pink Gem' image which I think is so cute.   I have made corners with parchment and pierced and embossed them. I made this card thinking that the challenge was 'Paper Piercing' not 'Paper Piecing'.  A senior moment, not reading correctly, but I wanted to show you this one as I thought the image was so cute.
Winner Sponsor is The Ribbon Girl
and Forever Friends Favourite it Pink Gem Designs

Have fun this month.
